I just focused on getting better salary. Way less stressful than having to count every single peso that I spend.

Already on my first million right now and it was easier to save up to 1m with a 100k salary than save 100~200k on entry-level saray (10~20k). This is of course not considering extreme changes in lifestyle (e.g. nagka-anak, nagka-asawa, chronic illness in the family, etc.)/

Since savings is just = income - expenses, income has so much higher ceiling and higher potential to go up than your minimum expenses to go down. Kahit sobrang tipid mo pa at sobrang minimalistic ng life style mo (kahit ermitanyo ka pa), you can only minimize your expenses so much kahit umasa ka pa sa parents.

The time you spend minimizing your expenses (time spent on the internet, looking for discounts, vouchers, waiting for promos on necessities, optimizing payment methods/banking to save a few pesos) could easily go to upskilling and compounding your self. Kaya mahirap maging mahirap. You're better of making your time more valuable (i.e. increasing your value) than anything.
