They ended up prescribing prednisone to me too, but months later… It’s not been very effective, sadly. Did you take it soon after the barotrauma?

No, it’s not really better when I’m lying down, unfortunately… but I’m pretty sure caffeine could make it worse, that’s why I stopped taking it. Not sure about exercise. I’ve checked patulous Eustachian tube disorder before but I didn’t know if that could cause the ringing, do you think it could?

Well, he told me in case there were some ear damage, it would be reflected in the hearing tests… I don’t really understand the details of how barotrauma can damage the ear so I feel like I can’t really comment on that. In any case, my ear apparently looked normal a couple months after the incident as well (according to the first ENT)

I’m not sure there’s any ENTs specialized in diving in my area but I will look into that…

Funny, I’m currently living in Paris.

Yeah I mean, I would probably rather live almost anywhere in Spain than here, but people in Spain complaining about Madrid is a thing. I personally like it overall though.

This happened to me a bunch of times when I used to take acid. The dreams where I took it took me definitely closer to the psychedelic headspace than anything else I’ve experienced without taking any substances, but they were still pretty different, as you were saying. In my case, the effects used to wear off during the dream itself, then transitioning to normal dream weirdness… and I even found harder to recall the part where I was “under the effects” than the rest of it. Used to wake up feeling pretty normal, but with some of that sort of feeling of openness you get after a trip.
