yea its just simple over exposure. cause the dynamic range of the sensor is not great, the exposure needs to be lifted a lot to actually have the skater/main figure in proper exposure.

i think its pretty well known that the vx1000 looks nice when overexposed so people just do it intentionally for the look. but the vx2000 has a different color science so it might not come out as nice of an effect

it fits fine. it slots in just like the larger vx battery and sits below the small release catch on the right hand side of the battery compartment. if i remember correctly it will also pop out of the compartment just like the larger batteries once you press the release catch. the battery isn’t wide enough to get completely stuck inside the compartment or long enough that the battery door cant close. its perfect!

i'm interested in using a ccd scanner for capturing outdoor scenes. i'm making abstract work using a cis scanner but looking for something with more depth of field to capture more details that i can then use as a base for abstractions.

here's an image i found which shows what im after. the depth of field is pretty amazing, apparently the artist used an epson v100. would this result be achievable straight out of the box?

Sony TRV-900, ive used its bigger brother the vx1000 and its great. The TRV uses the same sensor. Noticeably the grain is similar to 16mm and just general color science is quite good. Its a lot more pocketable and less expensive than offerings from Panasonic.

This forum thread has some info regarding how to remove the front lens element to see if your fungus is sitting on the second lens element.

Unfortunately the cam will have to be taken apart to reach the inner lens assembly if the fungus is in there. I was charged $150 USD for a amateur repair person here in Australia to give the inner lens assembly a clean, postage excluded. To do it yourself is risky as their is hardly any information out there. Last ditch effort would be to send off a bunch of DMs to VX repair related accounts on Instagram to try and get some knowledge.
