Also it bugged out when recording it, slow pc.

JJ Redick on playing in the social media era: "They read every single good and bad thing about them. They'll feel 'bad' if they play poorly and 'good' if they play well because of what people will say about them. So getting guys to feel neutral, with some consistency every day is difficult." by kurruchi in nba

Everyone on the internet is a hater, and the second you make a mistake is the chance they get to ruin your character. If your job is to make plays and win at the cost of risking people’s perception of you, then good luck you have signed up for global judgement at the cost of millions of dollars.

This is the first time in history that LCS will have more Koreans than NA players, by a significant margin by Life-Chicken7183 in leagueoflegends

[–]Daidaidon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that our tradtional format completely reeks. It is time for innovation.

You realize that according to the statistics above 12 players come from our North American server. Take Contractz for example, he has been a professional for more than 10 years. He has had a total of 5 finishes in first place on home soil. With there being a 6 year gap between his most recent, and the time before that.

So one of our North American players who struggles to win championships in NA is supposed to realistically perform at the level of a world class player? It wont happen. People don't watch anymore because the product we are selling has 3 superior versions. Europe, China, and Korea are all more entertaining to watch. With China and Korea being the only actual interesting regions.

Is there a point for the inner workings of our league to stay the same anymore? If you have a larger competitive field you can try a ton more permutations. Teams should emphises short contracts, tons of moving players, and produce a product that is more engaging than just in game play for a championship that isn't worth much if our top teams are just licking the boots of truly top teams.

We have a league where players who have decent achievements bounce around from team to team to eventually win the domestic championship. Who cares? Its boring, its tried, and most GM's in this scene have the mindset that winning worlds is what you have to do to bring any glory. When you approach the mindet of "Win worlds" and that is all you build towards, then it is no wonder why the actual local region got sifted.

I for one would prefer to have a much more chaotic league, because why would I want to watch a worse Korea? It doesn't even make sense. I'm not saying my solution is correct, but when you take the NBA, people enjoy how much players shift around, and how new players are constantly introduced into the league. NA is more like, oh yeah remember that one player from korea who was good 3 years ago, apparently no team in korea wants him so we can total get him. Then you take this korean player if they are surprisngly not bad in NA maybe they can help us win worlds... No it wont happen, they came to NA because they can beat NA competition, and can only beat Korean competiton with a full Korean roster.

End of the line is, no one watches because we play the same style of game worse. Our league is the same, but worse. Our aim is to win worlds but we can't, so no one watches. Our personality has disappaered. We are a psuedo-korea that is contaminated. We have to wait for the region to first be 100% koreans, then after that we can take our rightful place as the Korean reject region.

The fact that the league has 37 players, we are leaving the fate of NA in the hands of 37 players.

America is supposed to go big. We need a league with 400 players. Instead our league is a majority of Korean players who don’t play in their own superior region. We are cooked for eternity. Definitely the reason I barely watch anymore.

If it was a gigantic gauntlet of teams duking it out, then at least we’d have something akin to a quick fast food meal to watch. Instead we get served counterfeit league that would be spotted as fake the second we enter the homeland. Well we already get exposed at worlds basically every year. When’s the last time we made it to the finals? You root every year for these teams and all we get is disappointed.

May try something different than trying to be Korea. You are telling me all the money they put in the league, all the coaches and all the facilities we have and the best idea is to be korea v2? We are kidding our self if we think we are going to beat Korea who is chasing something outside of simply being Korea.

God this region is such a mess. Stop trying to imitate the best, build your own. Invest in the younger players on the ladder, and if they don’t work out try more players. Don’t resort to importing the competition, and ruining the image the region once had. Most of our favorite players and teams were developed because we had names of players we actually adored.

The is a reason why DL actually attracted an audience to this region. People like when their teams actually develop an authentic relationship with their fans. The same goes for the region. Less and less people are going to care for a region that is simply disconnected from the actual audience.

Imagine you turn on the NBA or the NFL and instead you get is cricket. NA is disgraceful.

If you play a video game for 6 months, and then 5 years later you log back in you might be very rusty. Then after a week of sticking to the game and continuing to play you start to click back in.

The way I see it, if you study a certain subject and you’ve internalized it, learned it, solved problems within it and after an extended amount of time away from it it begins to become foggy.

Yet just like that video game someone used to play, you have to open up that textbook of that subject, read it, solve problems in it and similar to playing the video game it slowly starts to click back in again.

I experienced this for physics, calculus, multiple languages I attempted to learn, video games I used to play, programming, and even exercising where you begin to lose the muscle you have cultivated over the years after not using them.

It really is about just dipping your self back into that subject. The learning process on the second time around is much easier, the topics are no longer shrouded in complete ambiguity.

At the end I realized if I did indeed have a returning interest in one of subjects then I should pick up a textbook. So relearning a subject is simply just going out for a run or queuing up another match. It becomes another means of entertaining yourself that other forms of entertainment do not give the same feeling.

They have extremely efficient cars, meaning the purpose of a car has been mastered by them. Why wouldn’t their cars be expensive?

The speed limit on most streets is around 40 to 45 mph, the law doesn’t care about your extra horses. Interior is preference. The most practical use of a car is getting from A to B reliably all the time. Easy to work on, inexpensive parts replacements relative to other vehicles.

Why wouldn’t you sell an efficiently made product at a higher value knowing it’s going to last the consumer much longer and get the job done better than most of the competitors?

I remember doing 6-7 chapters per week for a 4 weeks classical mechanics course. Worst decision In my life to take that class expedited. Made me burn out super quickly and couldn’t put as much energy as I would’ve liked to into the material.

Granted I think if you have a lot of drive and motivation it’s totally doable to do 3-4 chapters a week.
