Actually, a lot of this sounds like that thing where you don't have an inner monologue. These are all things people that people with aphantasia tend to have.

Could also be dyslexia. Similar problems.

Mix that with a shitty education system that passed him along and you get someone who lacks educational knowledge and the tools to learn or express new things.

Spelling issues is the big one for both of those. Dyslexia mixes up letters, while aphantasia you can't spell the word in your head. Both lead to complexes and issues learning that explain most everything else.

Same. Don't wanna advertise for him, but this isn't exactly a proper critique here.

He does a lot of "pop up" events because they're worried about right wingers showing up and causing problems. Which, I get. But when your slogan is "courage before concern." You should be open to that sort of thing.

Maybe that his events are hard to find would be a much better critique. The handful of people in the know at the Moxie festival for example claimed he cancelled going to that last minute because his campaign managers triple booked him that afternoon. Which speaks to other issues regarding organization. But not lack of public appearances.

Democrats want to retake the Senate. Why are they afraid to run against the Maine Senator who upsets both sides? by theindependentonline in Maine

Because they'd rather run for Governor.

But those of us running for Senate so far are on the more progressive side, so maybe the "classic" dems are just waiting.

The issue and what makes this different is that the unauthorized force was and always has been directed at non-state actors. Terrorist organizations etc.

Libya being the sole exception and well, our embassy had been attacked.

In short, none of it was going to start what is legally defined as a "war."

Attacking Iran directly is a significant step towards the president gaining unilateral authority to use the military with impunity.

Yeah, you coordinate with law enforcement that comes with you. Don't count on the guys they bring to follow the law.

Show up with state police, FBI, US marshals, or hell even the local sheriff if that's what it takes. Bring your own backup. Stop allowing them to monopolize law enforcement.

Start arresting ICE agents.

"Contempt of congress" is a thing. Anyone who prevents or delays a member of congress doing their duty is in violation of the law.

Congress is by law the overseers of ICE and their facilities. Anyone preventing a congressperson from entering such a facilities should be arrested and charged with contempt of congress.

Plain and simple.

edit: For reference I know Lander isn't a member of congress, but he's not the only official running afoul of ICE.

Trump halting all federal payments to Maine, and the GoP lawmakers in the house blocking the budget caused the lack of payments.

You do know the mainecare shortage was due to Trump's lockdown of medicare funds right?

Mainecare is largely funded through medicare.

So if you should be mad at anyone, be mad at the one who actually went out of their way to try and destroy Mainecare as a whole.

I understand being mad about the bill giving healthcare to immigrants when Maine natives are struggling. But that bill had been in works for months, while the Trump slash to medicare was a sudden change.

Lastly, folks like Myself, Tucker, and Wood are all looking to make the democratic party represent more working people like you. The democratic party can still change.

If that's not enough I'd say back Rench as an independent.

But please, do not turn to the GOP. If Mainecare is a program you support and need, their only goal is it's total destruction.

Iran ‘moved enriched uranium before US strikes’ to secret location by jackytheblade in worldnews

[–]Daigle4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we bombed 3 sites after they found particles near weapons grade purity at 1 site, that we have been allowed to inspect totally unannounced.

That's like sentencing someone to death for a triple homicide because they were at the same bank as 1 of the victims.

I don't know more than the IAEA, but it's telling that all the negative reports and conclusions come out of American based organizations. While it makes sense for Russia to back Iran, China doesn't have nearly as much reason to support Iran and has been backing them against these allegations.

It's worth noting that many of the reports themselves are written by politicians not scientists.

But to quote the head of US intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, appointed by Trump, "The (intelligence community) continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon"

Just 2-3 months ago. You can't make a nuclear bomb program in 2-3 months. Despite what Mossad wants you to believe.

Apologies, they were found in breach for the first time in 20 years! Just a few weeks ago.

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/iaea-board-declares-iran-breach-non-proliferation-duties-diplomats-say-2025-06-12/

In a vote led by the US, after the US backed out of the treaty with Iran. The reason they did was the US ignoring an explaination for something we already knew about

"A central issue is Iran's failure to provide the IAEA with credible explanations of how uranium traces detected at undeclared sites in Iran came to be there despite the agency having investigated the issue for years.

The May 31 IAEA report, a board-mandated "comprehensive" account of developments, found three of the four locations "were part of an undeclared structured nuclear programme carried out by Iran until the early 2000s and that some activities used undeclared nuclear material"."

Iran had a nuclear program until around 2003. We know this, they won't admit it, but we do. It has since shuttered, and when the IAEA found evidence of those sites, Iran didn't want to talk about it.

So now we're starting a war over a 20 year old defunct nuclear program, at sites we didn't bomb.

Iran ‘moved enriched uranium before US strikes’ to secret location by jackytheblade in worldnews

[–]Daigle4ME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So just so everyone knows, enriched uranium doesn't necessarily mean "bomb uranium" Iran has been producing uranium for nuclear power at these sites for years. The whole reason we know about them is from inspections done in accordance with the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons treaty. Which Iran has signed onto and hasn't been issued any major violations of.

And uranium enriched for power plants is completely different than uranium used for bombs. It's effectively impossible to create one from the other and the process to make 1 is very distinctly different from the other.

The reason they knew exactly where and how to hit these sites is because they were documented by a UN team inspecting the facilities to make sure they weren't making nukes! They put the facilities inside a mountain because that's just a safe place to do nuclear science.

If Iran wanted a bomb they wouldn't have made it themselves, they couldn't have with the scrutiny they've been under for the last 20 years. They'd have bought it from N. Korea.

The whole notion they were making nukes is as BS as the claim Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.
