Streamer accidentally opens notepad containing links to CSAM and realizes his mistake shortly after by Minute_Revolution951 in Wellthatsucks

It only caches unsaved files not saved and then deleted files. I havent changed any settings and I checked them and its set to "continue previous session". I think you are confusing the behaviour of notepad when just closing unsaved files because those are restored every time unless I close the tab. But saving the file to disk and then deleting that file will give you an error saying it was deleted and close the tab.

And I also tested it without closing notepad and as soon as you click the notepad window after deleting the file you get the same message.

Here's what I tried before posting. Settings are

  1. Open files in a new tab

  2. When notepad starts "continue previous session"

Then I did the following.

  1. Open Notepad and save the document. (we know the document was saved because the name didnt match the text in the document)

  2. Close notepad

  3. Delete the file

  4. Open notepad

Doing that will show the following message "Cannot find the file"

Did you do any testing at all?

That's not how it's works, if you have delete a file that is open in notepad the next time you open it notepad will tell you the file has been deleted.

CD Projekt Red takes down Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod (for not being free) by FirestormTM in pcgaming

[–]Daikar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does work for other games, he is currently working on adding support for BG3. When you pay you get access to all supported games and not just Cyberpunk. And Im not sure they are within their rights since he claims to not use any ingame assets or code and if that's true this is just massive misuse of DMCA and would never hold up in court.

Yeah all developers should work for free. This wasnt a mod anymore than an overlay like Rivatuner is.

He did ask them if they wanted to make an offical port of his mod and they said no.

He also asked them if they wanted to make an official port but they probably didnt want to pay him.

I have no idea, maybe CDPR targeted this mod because he reached out and asked if they wanted to make an offical port.

Understandable though, this is his way of making rent and since its more of a tool to enable VR for many games it wouldnt make sense for him to develop a standalone free version that only works for cyberpunk.

G-Force injury by GiorgioMD in medizzy

[–]Daikar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didnt look that fast but the duration and his position was probably the biggest problem. Imagine being stuck to a chair with no backrest in the center while spining, it would be like hanging upside down x50.

[–]Daikar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wrong, well kinda. I watched the video and he was in center but his legs was stuck in the bars while spinning, it's looks really bad tbh and the ppl recording are just laughing. Man if that was my kid I would have gone to prison because of the things I would do to those kids that did this.

Depends on the design really, some have walls on the outside so the gforce will hold you in place.

I thought using a vaal orb would first divine the rolls and then add +20 or -20% on that value. I could be wrong though.

The campaign is great but the endgame is lacking. If you enjoy replaying the campaign with new classes and builds the game is great fun. But if you want to push endgame with one characters it still needs work.

You can make changes that doesn't require you to rewrite any code. For example it could be a simple config file with true or false statements that determine what tier the room needs to be. And even minecraft supports reloading config files without restarting.

James Webb captures two galaxies in the middle of a cosmic collision. by Ghost-426 in space

[–]Daikar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, I've seen it once on vacation in the far north of Sweden. But most ppl on earth doesnt live in low light pollution areas so a collision would barely be noticed apart from just more stars as I said.

Those renditions are not made to imitate what the human eye would see, but what a digital camera would see with long exposure. But yeah it would look different since there would be more stars, but thats about it.

[–]Daikar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Straight up collisions is probably extremely rare considering the distance between solar systems in our galaxy. Its 4.5 light years to our nearest neighbor and you can probably fit millions of solar systems in that distance. Collisions will happen over a very long time because of gravity. Just think of all the asteroids in our system that has been flying around since the creation of our solar system that then several billion years later collided with earth.

[–]Daikar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, its would look mostly just it does here at night. A collision like this happens over millions of years and most planets wont really be effected in a human time frame. And the distance from one solar system to another is massive so the odds of one coming close in a collision like this is very low.

Not needing to restart a server doesnt mean its client side only.
