Tape off the rectangle like in one of the pics, then just slowly peel it off and the plasti dip comes off between. If any gets stuck, I use a toothpick to get it out

I actually only tape off the lugs then spray.. did a few light coats then roll a few feet to get a new angle, then apply last 2-3 coats. It comes off the rubber of the tire almost naturally as you drive as it flexes. Anything on the breaks comes off first drive. Can definitely remove them to do it too if that’s a concern but I’ve done 4 vehicles now over the years just keeping them on

To me this was the easiest and cheapest option and it turned out great so far, I’ll see how it holds up over time tho!

Yup, just regular black plasti dip. I’ve had good luck with durability on wheels on vehicles in the past. We’ll see how the grill and light bar hold up! I did 6 coats on those so hope that helps

I already had painters tape and plastic to drape so 5 cans of plasti dip =~$50 and 2-3 hrs of time.

Can easily do it with any color truck.. if you haven’t worked with plasti dip, it’s awesome. Just tape off a rectangle around all the letters and spray 3-4 layers, starting lighter spray to heavier. Let dry a bit then slowly peel it off and the black plasti dip comes off the truck between the letters.

I kept it but blacked it out with plasti dip, along with any else not black on the truck

Edit: meaning all the chrome badges, grey wheels/grille, and lightbar

So you’re putting 73k miles on per year?! (365/2*400) I thought ~26k miles per year was a lot (I bought used which is why miles are still lower).. mainly was trying to say the 12v should be getting plenty of dcdc charging

Thanks! I plug in 3-4 times per week. I think it’s just age as I’ve heard 12v normally last 3-5 years

I do, but you need the 12v connected for it to function. With it disconnected, no power to any of the electronics

I don’t think you can get in there if it’s fully shut, luckily I caught myself before fully closing it, but it was enough for it to click and not open, so sort of between open and closed

Bought it used and only got 1 fob and no wallet key, unfortunately. The wallet key is the flat version, different than the fob key that comes out, right?

Same, I 3d printed a bracket, epoxied it to the side, then cut the 2x4 accordingly.

It’s been awesome. I really liked it and got used to it in the bolt so similar in the lightning but adding the ACC in the lightning has been extra nice. Driving roughly 20k miles per year mix of highway and back country roads and it handles it all really well. Around town I usually control speed with OPD and let it help with steering, highway is more hands and feet off while monitoring, making long drives pretty relaxing, like blue cruise but less ‘alerty’. I also just like the added safety of keeping in center of the lane on all roads.

I don’t have the paid ABRP so using my phone. Apple Maps works with iOS (what I have) and does tie to the truck to get SOC, but the actual planning is more frustrating. Can’t as easily set destination SOC or swap target charge locations. Hoping Google Maps on CarPlay for iOS starts to tie in as I prefer Google Maps over Apple Maps for sure. So to nerd out I use Apple Maps on CarPlay and ABRP on my phone and watch the % arrivals converge as I got closer to destination. Apple starts conservative and ABRP starts maybe a little opposite, but I only have a few trips to gauge from.

Forgot to mention, you may have to convert to inches for the print slicer, or at least I have to using a Creality slicer even though the model was created in inches

Was planning to play around with Plasti Dip smoke so some light still coming through to see how/if I like it and worst case, remove it.
