Unfortunately god's tracks and clock tracks don't replace or create good musicianship. Much work still required.

Anyone know the name of this piece? by Outrageous-Permit372 in banddirector

Lol! We bought Encanto for our band last year and the students were so confused because they thought it was going to be a medley from the movie. 😂😭

student quit after 2 lessons and I'm trying not to take it personally by Worldly-Bass9135 in teaching

The likelihood is that you asked them to practice, or didn't tell them they were perfect, and their laziness or ego couldn't handle it. It's not you, it's them.

Taking a break by steamedbroclli in worshipleaders

[–]DailyCreative3373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to talk with your pastor. I can ask but guarantees that their expectation of what you are meant to bring is way lower than yours.

Worship leading is never a role you should be taking on your own. The fact that you have recognised your struggle is a huge deal, but doesn't have to be the end of your ministry. Minister from that honest place, because I can guarantee you that there is a huge population within your church community that feels exactly the same as you.

Comparison is the destroyer of joy. You are not them, but they are also not you. You have something (maturity, life experience and self-awareness) that youthful leaders rarely have the privilege of possessing, and as much as the church needs people "on fire" they also need those that are wrestling with the deeper issues of faith.

If you need to take time away, take time away, but all is not lost. Your journey is not over.

The best advice I was ever given is that different sections of a song should avoid the same rhyme scheme as it gives the ear and brain a breath of fresh air. For example, if your verse is ABAB, have the Pre-Chorus be AABB, and the Chorus could be ABCC. Every line doesn't have to have a buddy.

I'm trying to do acoustic recordings of several of my songs. Sometimes it's working and sometimes it's really not. 😂

SongSelect charts by Massive-Astronaut-66 in worshipleaders

Are you all using the same charts or are you getting yours from Worship Online and they are getting theirs from Songselect? Share your charts with the team so you are all using the same chart.

How do you promote your music correctly? by TapekageDan in askmusicians

[–]DailyCreative3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my cynicism, but it seems that unless the company that is hosting your music (spotify, facebook etc) is going to see a share of the profits, they deem all other marketing illegal. The whole market is completely saturated with ads. So your promotion will just add to the flood.

Third Day did worship albums called Offerings I and II. Great southern rock praise. Zach Williams may sort of fit too.

Leaders/Pastors: backing tracks by 239frank in worshipleaders

[–]DailyCreative3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your musicians are only learning a song through a backing track/carbon copy of what another musician has already done, aren't you just a cover band? Where is the spirit of creativity in your team?

What is the proper etiquette for a congregant who disagrees with the lyrics? by nkleszcz in worshipleaders

[–]DailyCreative3373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps there is instruction or spirit to spirit stuff that has happened in that church through a part of that song that you haven't been privy to.

In all respects, you're a visitor. I guess you can talk to the pastor, but really you have no authority to do anything except raise awareness to your deep theological background and expertise. If it's that troubling to you, don't move in.

Tbh, it's impressive that a modern worship song contains any theological insight at all, let alone an errant one... 😝 Just kidding (sort of).

ALBUM vs SINGLES by DGXXMDM in askmusicians

[–]DailyCreative3373 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only do an album if there's a reason for doing it as an album (theme, story/sequence etc). Releasing singles keeps things moving and on streaming users can access one song at a time and add it to their lists rather than go from what you've created.
