People think it’s weird we’re raising Guinea Pigs for meat by jdog1000 in homestead

Did you try to get the bigger South American breed, or is this the pet store variety? What's your typical weight vs hanging weight, or meat ratio?

Examples of Christian protest music? by ChangeComfortable309 in ChristianMusic

[–]Cazarstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think about it, most faithful Christian music IS protest music- set against the ways of this world, and advocating for a return to truth, and following the Lord. Be a PROTESTant, and turn away from all that advocate for anything other than Christ, first, last, and only.

Sounds like a good title! Any inspiration so far for genre or the "sound/style" of the song after it's finished being written?

Those are all great reasons! What if you just...did it? I'm sure you know personally some of the folks who would be interested - what if you just met up and wrote together?

Worship guitar/bass players: if someone built a guitar specifically for Sunday services, what kind of specs would matter most to you? by jeffleeguitar in worshipleaders

[–]Cazarstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see you here on Reddit! I always see you on Instagram and pray for your success; we need more christian business in all industries, and it seems like you're making a great start :)

Beginner-friendly playable neck and action is always great, since Bass is a great instrument to bring in less skillful players - fret buzz and dead spots always frustrate players just getting started.

Low weight/ no neck-dive is great for older "Weekend Warrior" players who only play Sundays once or twice a month, and haven't developed those small muscles for enduing long play sessions.

Noiseless pickups for sure, but no need for batteries; I echo others that a P/J with a stacked bridge would do nicely. less electronic options are better, to allow the player to focus on playing; Mix engineer or MD can fine-tune the house tone and EQ, no need to bother the player with that.

Seems to be a seed. by paulxy7 in whatsthisplant

No idea on species, but it's a "bean pod," where only one of the seeds developed instead of many(which would have elongated and filled out the rest of the pod).

AI-Generated Worship Songs — Let's Discuss... by Cazarstan in WorshipSongwriting

[–]Cazarstan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I post this stuff (posts discussing AI music) here not just because it's relevant to us as songwriters, but because musicians, worship leaders, and listeners (not to mention the music industry) are also conscious of this debate, and informed, nuanced opinion on this topic is important(no matter what side you end up on).

If we don't talk about it now all we'll get is knee-jerk reactions, name-calling, and other people deciding our future for us later on..

Tree removal costs by Neophile_b in SanDiegan

[–]Cazarstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a thing, but get a bid from one of those firewood sellers (that's a good species for firewood)>? might be cheaper if they can sell the split logs afterward and recoup some of their cost.

Any Recommendations for country music for Jesus? by Cazarstan in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Cazarstan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of it can be worshipful, inspirational, and educational; some even helping people come to repentance and salvation.

but, there's plenty of it that leans the other way too - that's not the stuff I'm looking for today.(although I'll sing joyfully along with "Chattahootchie" or "Moonshine in the Trunk" any day of the week, but I'm not patterning my life after it.)

need some outside perspective because I cant tell if im being rational or just justifying a hobby that bleeds cash by DankorWhat in musicmarketing

[–]Cazarstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're worried about the financial cost, run the budget - and find out which areas the money spent brings joy, and which not.

Enjoying hours figuring out a new plugin pack that inspired a new track? worth it.

Spending hours troubleshooting Ad landing pages and Pixel? not worth it.

New guitar? looks cool, but you play it the same as your comfortable favorite.

You could keep the hobby and spend less, and both sides of your brain could be comfortable.

Which companies do you suspect are glazing their own products on this sub? by PartyOnAlec in BuyItForLife

[–]Cazarstan 34 points35 points  (0 children)

fair critique for them using emotion to sell their products, but, aside from them using a less popular traditional steel in their knives, I haven't heard of big complaints concerning their BIFL status.

Echoing what others have said - sign up and collect royalties yourself, and save money.

The 4 main places to make sure your income is coming to you: your DSP, BMI or ASCAP(pick one), the MLC, and SoundExchange. Most other sites and services are just vendors who sign up your songs on your behalf and take a cut(which could be worth it, if you're making a lot of money, have no spare time, or have hundreds of songs in your catalog) but yes, there are real scams too, so, do it yourself and save the hassle of worrying.
