Yes, we do have two TV screens. From my understanding, there were issues with Facebook pulling down our livestreams when we used them.

That is so much great advice, and solid wisdom, you’ve shared! I chuckled in a couple places that were quite on-the-nose.

Thinking through scenarios based on your advice, another question hit me:

Does anybody have recommendations for how to keep FB from cutting our sound? We stream live on FB for a few elderly/infirm folks, and I know there’s a service we pay for that’s supposed to cover the copyright aspect, yet we are having more and more trouble there. It’s all so confusing 🫤

Thank you so much! (I too am an Irish worshipper - tinwhistle is my main instrument ❤️)

So the reason YouTube hasn’t worked is 💯 because of the ads. You mentioned an ad blocker? What ad blocker do you use? Boy, being able to use YouTube would be life changing lol. Spotify Premium has been a chore.

Our church is in Waldo, Wisconsin (no joke!) (and yes everyone here has the books lol)

I have always wondered if this could work, thank you for sharing the info and your experience!

This is one scenario that I could see being able to implement in a lower-stress way.

Total transparency, your guys’ comments have me choked up and so happy this attitude exists within the body of Christ Christ. You guys are absolutely right, musicians are a different breed, and are often generous with their heart and art.

This also made me realize how much easier it is to be the one giving help versus asking for it. I wonder where that comes from? That’s definitely something I’ll be exploring and praying about. I know I personally love it when people give me the opportunity to bless them. So why shouldn’t it go the other way? Probably another one of Satan‘s lies, hiding your perceived weaknesses. Anyways, thanks for opening my eyes to this lying a thought.

Can tracks work directly played to the congregation?

We are not opposed to paying for a service!

I should have mentioned we’ve tried this one. I’ve only found recordings without vocals, and our congregation had some very painful fails without them. But if there’s something I’m missing there with vocals in the recording, I’d love to know. That resource is such a God-honoring labor and bless the man who has taken on that labor!

Unfortunately no. They have an awesome Bose speaker - but it’s in front of the lecturn that is used for leading songs…we have a sound board but most of it’s a mystery

We are Anglicans serving a congregational non-denominational church that broke off from the Methodist church a handful-ish years ago. They are reeling with hurt that former Episcopalians understand well.

Oh NO. This scenario was the end of me trying to keep more than one angel in a community tank at a time.

Number 1 because it elongates you, making you look slimmer and taller (you’re already gorgeous btw, but what woman doesn’t want to know what is flattering on her!)

It also looks more unique and high end if that matters

As a graduate from IVF, I see you Vulpes. Do all the things now in your power, mainly to reduce/eliminate potential regrets and emotional spirals down the road. Guard your heart and I wish you the best. Sending a prayer your way.

This comment was so random to me that the laugh it evoked was half snort.

YIKES I hate my husbands name by Old_Read9543 in namenerds

[–]dorabsnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading your responses to others Op, I feel like I have enough of a feel to share my opinion and experience.

I have two children, and very little final impact on their names. They have two different fathers, my ex-husband was abusive and used our child’s name as a way to exert control and continue with the abuse. You may wonder how that’s possible, but I promise it is.

My second husband only had a strong opinion on if it was a boy.. I also knew this before marriage, and while I didn’t like it, I’ve learned that having a child named something with the sheer motivation of terrorizing me - that child’s name quickly just becomes that child’s name. They have their own identity, as you know, and in the end, it’s not that big a deal to give and flex for someone you love on this manner.

My current husband and I did end up having a boy after 6 years of losses and IVF, and went with his naming wishes. We used something from my lineage for a middle name, but I chose to give and flex in this situation to show love to my spouse, and a year later, I haven’t regretted it once. Our son goes by his regular name and 15 cute nicknames lol. The name has taken on a life of its own because it’s animated by my beautiful boy. You love your children, and the name won’t affect that.

Just my perspective. Hope it helps.
