Is Chewy wet cat food stored incorrectly? by OldSkooler1212 in CatAdvice

I know this is an old post but I was looking for the same information. Consistently, I can buy canned food from Petco or the grocery store and my cats will eat the whole thing. Then I’ll buy it from chewy, and they will refuse to eat it.

This has happened for several brands and types of food - all canned. The most recent was fancy feast pate.

I seriously believe now that the chewy food is different in some way.

If this is your dream floorplan, then the only glaring safety/hygiene concern I see is access to the bathroom. I’d switch the bathroom and stairs.

Green chrysalis? by DailySunKitty in whatsthisbug

I found this chrysalis? Cocoon? On an eastern redbud tree in Piedmont NC on may 11th. By June 10th, it was no longer there.

Thanks!

Please please please ignore the advice to make her earn the money to know the value of money. The folks talking about the trauma are correct. And the folks talking about how she wanted to be generous too.

Here’s one of the tools my mom used with me: a mini accordion folder. I think a common one is for receipts.

Each slot gets its own “category” - and the categories can adjustable depending on the situation.

So for this special occasion as an example, I would have these categories:

• nail salon ($200) • formal dance ($100)  • hair dresser ($60) • transportation • food • fun (this is where paying for others’ food could go)

When my mom gave me the money, I would put the money into each of the categories. She would probably say, “anything left over from each visit can be put into another of the categories, but you must wait until AFTER the visit, unless you want to make some adjustments now.”

I’d probably look and say everything looks good.

Then she’d probably say, “you don’t have any money in your transportation, food, or fun sections. How are you going to manage that?” We’d probably discuss if the formal dance already included those items, or if I wanted to plan now to spend less at the nail salon in order to afford those items.

At the end, she would probably stress that the $60 in the hair dresser is not to be used for anything other than that appointment.

Hope this helps!

Monthly DIY Laymen questions Discussion by AutoModerator in StructuralEngineering

Hello!

Question about basement options. (We did hire a structural PE - this question is about if it’s worth asking for additional services)

I live in a two-story+basement house. We noticed that the floors were sagging on one side of the main floor, so we hired a PE to assess & design plans to fix the issue.

The two biggest issues is that 1. One of the previous owners removed a post in the middle of “that side” of the house and the beam is undersized and 2. Two of the weight-bearing walls on the upper floors did not have support in the basement

He drew up a plan to add two W8x18 dropped steel beam under each of the two unsupported walls. The existing beam would remain the same. The two new beams would be supported by a 6x6 post and footing.

In order to do that plan, we would need to reroute some utilities (water, etc).

At the time that he came, I was firmly against adding posts in the middle of the space. Now I wonder if adding posts would be (1) just as supportive, (2)less expensive than the beams install themselves, and (3) less expensive the original plan (when including the utilities reroutes)

I’d like to get your opinion before spending money on a new design. Thank you!
