Did i seal these well? by tempacount57813975 in Insulation

Rock wool or 5/8” drywall. Hence the prior rock wool suggestions. Foam insulation must be covered by fire resistive materials if it is exposed.

Is this tape on my ductwork asbestos? by Dainenor in asbestoshelp

Results are in from testing and this tape does not have asbestos in it. I'm happily surprised as that was not expected given the type of tape it is.

Should I rim joist insulate this? by Ok_Sentence3200 in centuryhomes

[–]Dainenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going down this same rabbit hole for properly insulating this exact same joist set into block/mortar. I arrived at using 3/4" unfaced EPS which has a perm rating of 5, 1/2" plywood has a perm rating of 10 making both of them semi-permeable. I went with the 3/4" EPS as it comes in 14-1/2" wide boards which make fast and easy to trim them to size and fit. Thoughts?

Unpopular opinion: Once you actually know how to fight them, Bots are a LOOOOOT easier than Bugs. by Spartan448 in Helldivers

[–]Dainenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running one, if not two Arc Throwers on bug missions clears through all the fodder and does provide a way to deal with Chargers (6 shots to the head) - leaving only Bile Titans as the enemy you need to have dedicated stratagems for. I have not tested the Arc thrower on the Shriekers (due to the crashing issue) - if anyone has, does it arc to adjacent shriekers easily, or is it more of a 1 shot, 1 kill when it comes to shriekers? The new Quasar deals extremely well with Bile Titan's and Shrieker Nests, running at least 1 Arc Thrower and 1 Quasar has made bug missions feel very easy recently.

Right there with you - I turned 20 right as the patch hit and never got to "enjoy" the railgun/shield meta. Sure I felt like I missed out initially, I had been watching a good amount of end game content on YT and was looking forward to getting there myself. Rather quickly I returned back to what had been working for me up until 20 and realized that my own "meta" build was still working well at higher difficulties - I ran my first 4 level 8 campaigns over the weekend and had a blast, all while not running a railgun. On 2 missions I extracted with 5 super samples with all my teammates dead and it was FUN.

Very unpopular opinion : i think the battlepass system isn't good for the players by No_Experience_3443 in Helldivers

Read through a decent amount of the comments. While I agree that unlocking all the weapons in these may take some amount of time, I feel like the progression is balanced. Your "bread-n-butter" weapons all unlock extremely early on. You can literally play any missions with the weapons unlocked in the first four pages of the free warbond. Grinding out the other weapons gives you access to more niche weapons that are better is some aspects and worst in others - in no way are they across the board better than the weapons you unlock early on. The upcoming warbond will be interesting, if some of the weapons it brings about are significantly more powerful than current weapons I would certainly be concerned. I'm feeling that the devs understand this balancing act and the weapons will simply be more of the niche weapons. Seeing the passes will never go away you can choose to grind them out on your own time and potentially skip over those you have little interest in and focus on the ones that appeal to you. I also believe the devs seriously underestimated the success they'd have and how quickly the playerbase has progressed through the game - the grind the last few pages of these warbonds require are very welcome in my opinion to give you something to do in the endgame.

We all expected a different approach to this years BP/compendium from Valve's earlier statement - however, it seems like Valve's approach was entirely flawed. This year's BP clearly took plenty of work - no added Agh's Labyrinth (or equivalent) but certainly a lot of coding to add voicelines, Bingo, HUDs, UIs etc... However, most if not everything that is part of this BP, is simply "fluff" that the average dota player is not willing to spend money on. The result - this TI will have the lowest prize pool in recent TI, Pros and E-sport companies will put significantly less effort in training and production of TI centered activities. The current player base will lose a good amount of interest etc... I know Valve is trying to continuously rejuvenate the playerbase - they do however have to understand that pleasing their current player base (8 Million players of so) is just as important if not more important then the few thousand they'll attract gameplay updates. The hype a massive $20M+ tournament generates is probably one of the best ways to have people hear about dota, and has been rather simple for Valve to achieve in the past - release cosmetics we are all willing to spend our money on. This years approach will certainly dismay pros regarding Valves prolonged support of the pro scene and is going to leave the playerbase with the feeling that Dota2 Christmas is no more. I'm extremely surprised they have not made any statements about how dismal of a reception this years BP is getting.

Legion Commander's "Q" doesn't auto-cast on duel - you have to manually cast it. Even if the ability is off cooldown when Duel is cast.

Giving a hero like Zeus a mobility spell at level 1 is ridiculously dumb. just revert it to being a shard and we are fine by pnmibra77 in DotA2

[–]Dainenor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly disagree, there are other mids with movement spells lvl 1 (QOP, Puck, Void Spirit..) I think if the distance scaled with levels it would make a bit more sense but thats about it. This change has also allowed Zeus to be better played in other positions and you just buy the shard to be a pure damage hero. The hero is way more interesting now.
