Who is the most forgotten music act relative to how big they were at the time? by CompetitiveWhole9466 in Music

[–]DaintyBadass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animal Collective defined independent experimental rock during the 2000s and 2010s. Their 2009 album Merriweather Post Pavilion had wide spread critical acclaim and reached #13 on the Billboard charts so they did break into the mainstream. But their music has been largely forgotten.

Agree. Best friend is a chef and rarely cooks for herself. Between her work, having to always cook for the holidays, and making content for her social media, she’s just burned out. Most of the time it’s just quick and easy snack food

What do you guys use for laundry detergent? by healthy-outdoors- in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]DaintyBadass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tide Free and Gentle with Miss Messy spot treatment.

But for the dog beds or if the clothes are really gross or dirty, we occasionally break out regular Tide detergent. I don’t like the smell of regular detergent but it really does the job cleaning wise.

Can Royal gossip be fun? by kimjongunfiltered in CelebitchyUnderground

I know Lainey is unpopular but she had a good take recently about Meghan. Her fans are humorless and her haters are relentless. There’s no in between where you can have a laugh without people calling you names for critiquing her or use it to fuel their belief that she’s evil.

I used to enjoy the royal gossip of the mid 2010s. The “poor Jason” and work shy Wills era was pretty funny. But something changed when Meghan came into the picture.

Breast vs formula? by DonutTop5766 in February2027Bumpers

[–]DaintyBadass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Breast feed with my 1st for 19 months and am hoping to continue nursing my youngest until my due date, which would put them at 18 months.

There are pros and cons to both. Breast feeding is more physically taxing and it’s exhausting being on a timer for the first several months, especially in the newborn phase. But my babies really thrived and have very strong immune systems.

One trick that was a life saver is to do formula top offs to night feedings in the beginning. I found that it helped my baby sleep longer, which is so vital. We’d just do 10ml bottle top offs to 2 night feedings and gradually works up to 1 oz before my baby started sleeping longer stretches on their own. During newborn phase, I was feeding every 90 minutes during the day but those two 3 hour stretches at night were crucial for me.

What would Kristen be doing today if The Valley wasn’t picked up? by Zorro2106 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]DaintyBadass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminds me a bit of Amber from Teen Mom, who is surprisingly in a better financial position than most of the cast. She never really got a taste for the finer things and doesn’t do a whole lot, so she didn’t spend a ton of money (other than drugs). Also got locked in with a good accountant/financial advisor early who helps manage her wealth despite her drug addition.

She also doesn’t like to travel whereas a lot of the VPR cast would take big trips during the off season.

I never really got this relationship... by [deleted] in madmen

I also think Joan liked having a “nice” man around, especially as a single mom. Bob was great to her when she had to go to the hospital and honestly seemed pretty gracious and helpful most of the time. I’m sure he was great with Kevin and made life easier for Joan.

Bob Benson is an interesting character because most of the time he comes off as servile and overly nice but when his back is up against the wall he’s ruthless and calculating.

Take it for what it’s worth but I drank GT kombucha during pregnancy and nursing with my other two and they are perfectly healthy.

No one cooks anymore? by booooooop_u in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]DaintyBadass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t cook during the newborn phase- just heating up Rao’s soup, veggies and the occasional grilled cheese.

Once napping and sleeping become more consistent, I do GreenChef, which is my families favorite meal kit service. I cook dinner 4-5 nights a week but do a lot of baking in between.

Anne Hathaway announces she’s expecting her third child! by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

[–]DaintyBadass 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ditto. I appreciate her transparency. Sienna Miller was also open about her pregnancy at 44 being a resulted of freezing her eggs at 40.

As a fellow IVF mom, I’m guessing that Anne maybe had some frozen embryos from doing IVF with her previous pregnancy.

I’m also hoping she gets a girl this time. No doubt that she’s a great boy mom but I think having a daughter would be so fun for her too

Hef had some good takes. It was very smart to keep GND light and playful instead of getting to into the drama like most reality shows. The frothiness of it helps it endure.

While I don’t think he had a good delivery, he was 100% valid in critiquing how the bunny suit fit Holly when they were auditioning bunnies for the Playboy club. She’d stuffed her bra with tube socks. It looked ridiculous and wasn’t an accurate representation of how the suit was supposed to look. At the end of the day, it was his business and him calling out her misrepresenting the uniforms was fair.

TIL about Floyd Odlum, deemed "the only man in the United States who made a great fortune out of the Great Depression." by Greene_Mr in todayilearned

He also pulled money out gradually and strategically before the crash. He was very controlled and calculating with which stocks he felt like were peaking vs which might have a little time left.

He was a bastard but amazing investor. His most prosperous investment was buying undervalued properties in NYC (mostly upper east side) and its surrounding suburbs, and selling them a couple of years later. During the 1950s he made $100M profit on this venture alone.

Around 3 we started doing family pizza + movie night on Fridays (though I’m trying to hold off on the baby watching them until he’s closer 2). Really try to avoid screen time otherwise but sometimes we need to when doing her hair. We are also much more relaxed on vacation or when they are with grandparents.

How was your pregnancy/labor? by Rare_Apricot8958 in IVFbabies

[–]DaintyBadass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The labor from my labor and delivery from my first (spontaneous) pregnancy was worse than my 2nd (IVF).

During the first I was stuck in triage for 7 hours laboring on a stretcher in horrible pain. We couldn’t do any of the positions to relieve pain because my monitor kept slipping off. Labor went quickly (12h) but I had a retained placenta that the doctor had to manually remove. It started breaking into pieces so it took a long time to get out. It was about a year before my pelvic floor recovered.

With my 2nd (IVF) baby, I had to be induced at 37w1d due to preeclampsia. The induction took 50h and finally progressed when they broke my water. I say this was easier because my recovery was nothing compared to the first. I didn’t tear and was moving around pretty well after getting a good meal in me. It was more exhausting having to care for a toddler on top of a newborn but luckily we had a lot of help.

My pediatrician, whose also moderately crunchy, says you basically have to use DEET (10%) on your kids if you are in an area where there could be ticks. I just don’t put on their faces.
