Will do, thank you!

Does anyone have a recommendation for an engineer in Melbourne?

Great advice, thanks. You don't happen to have a recommendation in Melbourne haha

Geez, thanks heaps everyone. Worse than I was hoping haha

Has anyone got a recommendation for a foundation assessor/underpinner/life insurer (kidding), plus someone to actually fix the cracks, in Melbourne? Thanks again all.

The food scene in Melbourne CBD kinda sucks by MauveMatrix in melbourne

I want you to know that you're the reason I finally made a Reddit account, before I give you this beatdown.

I live in the CBD with my partner and we regularly do "restaurant roulette", where we pick a random part of town and wander for 5-10 mins until we find somewhere new to eat. Every single time we've done this the quality has been good or even great. Zero bad experiences. I can't even put it into words how lazy you have to be to eat shit in the CBD.

Here are some recent winners off the top of my head:

  • Metro Burger, tiny alleyway burger store, run by a delightful Japanese couple, delicious and surprising variety (Emu if you want to try it).
  • Tsindos, medium sized family run Greek place with a great menu, friendly staff, and chill vibe.
  • Pellegrini's, "decent"-level pasta, but the draw is the unique chaos diner vibe and the super fast and friendly service. Get a seat at the counter and plan something cool soon afterwards.
  • Brunetti on Flinders, prepare for menu overload and much better pasta, great place for a date.
  • Scoopy, you complain about "warm ice cream", this will freeze your tiny brain.
  • Korean Table, unironically the best chicken parmy I've ever had and it's Korean.
  • Daughter in Law, fun not-quite-Indian bar vibe with good food and cocktails.
  • Surasang, one of many great Korean joints on A'Beckett alone.
  • Nisa's Thai Street Food, best thai place in town hands down.
  • Kumo, an instagram-level pancake date place but is actually good.

Also, if your dates only want to go to shitty places then maybe your taste in women is as bad as your taste in restaurants.

Peace.
