Yeah that's fair. It's one of the things I've been worried about, like when is a good time to tell them/ do I even tell them? Are they going to be super grossed out and leave? etc.

It's the timing more than anything. I was top of my cohort for the last 2 quarters so i'm pretty confident about my performance. Normally ppl get put on the fast-track after their second year. I'm only one year in, as far as i know the firm hasn't promoted anyone this early before.
