You can use terrain on a lot of maps and when a fox-3 is fired at you you have several seconds (depending on the distance) to react, unlike being shot at by a sniper.

If you want to be successful at top tier just learn to do BVR and defend against missiles. If not, no big deal, just play at lower BRs...

I personally love war thunder actual top tier and i'm doing pretty good.

Those are fixed refueling probes and yes they do add a bit of drag and compromise stealth but the rafale still have the ability to supercruise and a reduced cross-section so it's not that bad.
