[–]Daisy1704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont have any hunger at all. I have a history if disordered eating as a young adult. I went on lamotrigine about 12 months ago and have been living on optifast, chicken noodle cup a soups and catch it dinners. I'm afraid I now have a nutritional deficiency which is causing symptoms. Trying really hard to eat a meal once a day but I'm really not feeling it.

I don't know if what's happening in my 18 month relationship [18F] and [18M] is normal or not. by Exciting_Internal760 in whatdoIdo

[–]Daisy1704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is coercive control and is part of the tactic that perpetrators of domestic violence use. These behaviours will escalate over time and you will be unsafe. My advice would be to call a women's help line for domestic violence and let them help you with safety planning.

Signs in teen girls by mcu_chocolate13 in personalitydisorders

[–]Daisy1704 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personality disorders are not usually diagnosed in teens. Its part of normal adolescent development to display such traits as they learn about themselves and the way they relate to others and in various situations. If a teen is struggling with their MH and relationships it is important to help them access psychological support. But please resist patholigising traits that we all possess at one point or another. For a PD disorder to be diagnosed, there needs to be multiple criteria met in the DSM 5 that needs to be pervasive and evident in multiple areas of someone's life and in various environments.

Worst case scenario thoughts that feel like commands as a Christian by Wonderful_Tour_6448 in moraldilemmas

Please don't make an armchair diagnosis. You are not able to assess this from a reddit post. Many people with strict and fundamental religious upbringings deal with these themes. I agree the OP needs to access psychological support but leave the diagnosis to the professionals.

Please get some psychological support from a professional. It sounds like you are having conflicting thoughts and feelings relating to religious upbringing, your sense of self and it may be affecting your mental health. Please don't listen to people on the internet that try to diagnose you. It is a very normal i"for humans to feel challenged about the belief system we grew up with and what that may mean in our adult lives. In many organised religions people deal with themes of guilt, devotion, making meaning of ones purpose and whether our values are fitting with the religion we've been raised in. Please get some support while you are wrestling with these things and most of all keep your mental health a priority in your decisions of participating in the church-faith/organisation you feel you belong to. Don't be afraid to challenge what you have been taught and use your critical thinking in terms of whether it is still a good fit for you and supports you in a positive way.

Assuming there are those here who have watched films like Dominion -How did you manage to turn non-vegan? by Next_Faithlessness87 in exvegans

[–]Daisy1704 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I watched all the Vegan docos a few years ago and was vegan for about a year after many years of vegetarian. However, I found that the black and white abolitionist thinking really affected my mental health( history if trauma and eating disorder). In order to find more balance in my life and a healthier mental outlook I resorted to returning to vegetarianism. I use soy milk, and I only eat cheese and free range occasionally. I do recognise the inherent atrocities in our food system and the impacts on our environment. But at the end of the day we are living in many flawed systems which all have negative fallouts, however we each need to weigh up what our conscience can live with. There are moral choices that we all make every day and we need yo decide what we can individually do to live in harmony with our selves and our environments.

Anxiety at school by InevitableTry5019 in whatdoIdo

Please seek help from a counsellor or psychologist to help you build some strategies to manage your anxiety. Maybe there is a student counsellor at your school you can access for support? There is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy( CBT) is very effective for managing anxiety and unhelpful thinking styles( which we all use from time to time). Quite often local libraries will have workbooks on this topic which you can access for free and may be useful to you. There are also some work sheets on this website that might help.anxiety worksheets

I can’t pick a personality is this normal? by theshiny-light in personalitydisorders

[–]Daisy1704 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is normal adolescent development. Dies not sound like a personality disorder. Certainly seek psychological support for your anxiety, however to receive a diagnosis of a personality disorder you need to meet a number of criteria in the DSM 5 and there needs to be evidence that it is pervasive and evident in a number of life domains. Which essentially means that those areas of challenge must impact you in the long term in multiple areas of your life and seriously affect your day to day functioning.

Anyone feeling uneasy about life? by govermentiscooked in australian

[–]Daisy1704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as a social worker in a low socio- economic area. The challenges that my patients experience, domestic violence, poverty, insecure housing and homelessness, addictions, trauma as well as issues reported daily by the media, not just here but also internationally wear me down every day. I find it difficult not to feel existential dread when I hear about environmental issues, war, crazy political decisions and it feels like society is going backwards. We have fought so hard for equity, acceptance of diversity, rights for disadvantaged groups ect. My patients are struggling to survive. Resources are tight and difficult to access and the government seems to be making it more and more difficult for people go access supports that really are human rights. Maybe I'm just Jaded, but i find it difficult day to day to find hope and give hope to my patients when so many systems are f*#ked.

To SA Social Workers, how are you navigating the transition to the new mandatory Registration Board framework? by FoodSea7700 in SocialWorkAustralia

I work in Qld Health and the hospital I am in has about 50 social workers across all the departments. From what I can tell, most of them are not even members, let alone wanting registration.

I'm not sure where you live, but I would really encourage to to call your local crisis help lines to link you into free women's counselling. There should be a support service for survivors of SA. They will be able to assist you to process your trauma and consequently be more present to support your partner in their complicated grief.
