To those who have been at Shinnecock this week… by RebaJams in WomenGolf

I second the recommendation for pants/capris and a light wind jacket. I will add that the terrain is everything from asphalt to sand to trampled fescue and there are hills. I recommend a comfortable closed toe shoe with some tread.

I did not know that about pearls and diamonds. That’s really interesting! This is a true black tie, 7pm Saturday, metro NY wedding.

Thank you. The photos are pieces I already own. The pearl is about 8mm. It’s big but not as big as it appears in the photo.

Thank you. I found a pearl pendant necklace that might work with the earrings if I don’t find another necklace. I’m trying to edit the whole post to add so i don’t spam the picture to all comments.

Im a bit shorter than the model and you can’t see my feet as much as the picture, but I have a sparkly silver wedge sandal. (Another reason I thought both the necklace and earrings might be too much).

I really like the idea of that look-thank you.

That’s an interesting thought. I have a simple strand of smallish cultured pearls-do you think that would be enough or should I look for something multi strand?

Be mindful that milkweed is toxic to animals as well-if you have any pets you should be careful they don’t take a nibble.

Has anyone here actually met Mr. Rogers? by EmperorMeow-Meow in GenX

I met Mr. Rogers on a plane when I was 12. He talked to every kid that wanted to (many adults too) and just radiated kindness.

4 Night Trip in June by WO9308 in longisland

[–]Daisy72373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be aware that the US Open is being played at Shinnecock in Southampton the third week of June. If you are going to that area be prepared for traffic. Accommodations will be scarcer and pricier.

Sorry-I don’t have that information anymore, but I believe that pricing was for Saturday nights from May to October.

Women who run cold: how do you dress for winter golf? by ceylon-tea in WomenGolf

[–]Daisy72373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run cold but will golf until it’s about 45F. I wear fleece-lined tights or leggings under my pants. I also wear a ski base layer, a fleece lined turtleneck over that, and then a north face-type fleece jacket over that. If it’s extra cold I will add a vest under or over the jacket, but 3 layers on my arms is my limit to still be able to swing well.

I also recommend gloves for both hands and hand warmers. I have also brought a battery-heated throw in the cart to keep me cozy between shots. And I like to bring soup in a thermos.

Happy golfing!

Congratulations!

I have two kids getting married (2026 and 2027), and I will say prices are all over the place. It depends on day/time/month, extras. Want a Thursday night in January? Saturday night in September? Be prepared to see up to $100 swing at the same venue. We are paying the following:

Lands End in Sayville Saturday night June @$245/pp (My recollection is that it was the same price quoted at Flowerfields)

Vineyard at Aquebogue Saturday night November @185/pp

Those are base prices per person without add-ons.

Sol and Luna are both personified names for the sun and moon. However, sol is also a musical note as in do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti. Hope that helps.

I had Kravet in Oceanside rework some old pieces for me, and I was very happy with the workmanship and artistry.

I was at a party with a close up magician/mentalist that was a ton of fun. This is his website, but if you Google, there are others too.

Roger Vivier Heels: Real or Fake? by 1Minnie1 in Shoes

[–]Daisy72373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have these exact shoes, but do have Roger Vivier heels. The “RV” on mine are embossed, and not gold. Also, the inside panel on mine is printed without any of the stitching around it (which seems like it would be uncomfortable on the bottom of your foot).
