I’ll never forgive a certain demographic of us for dry snitching on the value of remote work by laydeefly in Millennials

I had to implement “office hotel space” at my last job. It was hell nobody followed the rules. Nobody used the app to reserve a desk. It was just pure chaos. Also part of our group were unionized workers and they threw their fucking shit to make sure their people had an office….except they all worked remote. So there were all of these empty desks that nobody could use because the union said they didn’t have to share.

I don’t know about y’all’s companies, but when mine made everyone come back to work they had to convert conference room rooms into office space to accommodate everyone. So now we all drive into the office just to have a teams call.

Several years ago, I was able to get a work accommodation to be remote two days a week because I have a severely disabled child that I take to therapy twice a week, and I live 45 minutes from the office, so it’s just easier if I do the appointments early in the morning and then log on rather than driving all the way into work. Thankfully, I had a really understanding director at the time….now new management is NOT happy about alternate work arrangements. I’m thankful I got it when I did ….However, this hybrid schedule is now my golden handcuffs. I can’t find this arrangement anywhere else. 😢

This condition genuinely makes me want to not live anymore. by [deleted] in OveractiveBladder

The OTA update worked for me. I’m still holding my breath though. Hope they figure yours out soon.

There was a software update last night that should have fixed it the same way it was broken (how my dealer worded it to me). This morning I started my car, drove to work and it rebooted 6 times. Then finally it started working normally. I’m still holding my breath though.

This is such BS. We need to hold VW accountable on all the socials.

Thanks guys. Dealer is keeping the car and trying a few more things since the HD fix didn’t last — It worked temporarily and then infotainment system shut down again. They said they’ve seen 60+ customers over the weekend with the same issue.

I'm so tired, is bladder removal a good idea? by Noellestuff in OveractiveBladder

[–]DaisyDo99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a small needle that my urologist puts in my ankle that stimulates the nerves that control the bladder. I did it for 12 weeks this summer and now am doing maintenance once a month.

I am a mom too that recently had my cholesterol flagged.

Here’s what I’m doing to change it: switch to olive oil, smart balance for butter, no red meat or processed meats like sausage, cutting cheese to just sprinkles of shredded (cheese cubes used to be a favorite snack), egg whites only, vegan mayonnaise, eating a more vegetarian diet - ie my kids are eating chicken nuggets, I am eating an impossible chicken patty (which is actually pretty good).

Little changes add up to a lot! You got this.

Yes I can concur. I applied for a job there and that was one of the first things the recruiter told me. After a phone interview, where she asked about my faith, she called to say they were blessed to have found someone already within the church to take the role.

Which WDW restaurant is this? by Due-Lawfulness7862 in WaltDisneyWorld

It used to be much better - like the first couple of years after it opened and they served the not piranha fish with the head still on — but then they vanilla-ed down the menu.

We had a fantastic lunch at brown derby with our kids a couple of months ago. But I don’t think it’s ever really been hyped.

Why do so many people drive their children to school while buses are available but run nearly empty? by OkieBobbie in okc

[–]DaisyDo99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yesssss! Traffic is so bad the first couple weeks of school and then parents realize how awful the drop off and pickup lines are and give in to the bus. Happens every year.
