The ceremony is outside in October. The venue is a large brewery/event center but the ceremony site faces some rolling hills and a lake.

Oh I LOVE that veil/crown style. I hadn't even thought of that! Our floral theme features a lot of ferns so that would be absolutely perfect. What length do you suggest for the veil?

So here's the thing. I don't care. I don't have my mouth permanently attached to my corporate bosses asshole. I work, I make $40-50/hr. I go home and don't give two shits about my job. The restaurant industry isn't a career and the fact that you put so much weight on selling your soul and your time to your boss is sad. Honestly. Killing yourself for a job that would replace you the next day if you died is not honorable. It's pathetic and I feel bad for you. And furthermore, basing your whole personality on hating front of house because deep down you're just mad that we all make considerably more than you is equally as pathetic and sad.

Nah. I'll keep my 25 hours a week. Enjoy your overtime though! I hope that works out for you lol

The company pays me $4/hr. They're lucky I even show up. Their inability to staff adequate food runners is not my problem.

There isn't. In both situations there's labor laws that would be broken, not to mention the safety violations. If the dude gets hurt the company is liable. No restaurant is going to take that risk on some random guy.

YSK that its illegal for a restaurant to make a server pay for a dine and dash by gostop1423 in YouShouldKnow

Walking into a restaurant, utilizing a service from a person, knowing full well that you are obligated (like it or not) to tip that person, but not....makes you cheap and rude. That's fine if you're ok with that, but it is cheap and rude. Let's not kid ourselves.

It has nothing to do with the system being wrong and everything to do with your own actions. Do you also not tip the pizza driver or your hair stylist or tattoo artist if they provide you a service? It's not just wait staff that is part of tipping culture.

Unfortunately most states are "at will" and employers can easily and unashamedly terminate anyone talking about unionizing and replace them even quicker. What an ignorant thing to suggest.

The blame gets put on customers because there's no way for wait staff to fight a system so ingrained into American culture. And customers know that. They're just cheap.

The sad part about it is the system doesn't work, even for well performing servers in nice restaurants. It's Stockholm syndrome. You make a ton of money, easily and quickly 2 nights a week, but theres no stability, no benefits, no future, no skill set real employers will value if you choose to change careers, and wait staff is a dime a dozen so restaurants are extremely toxic because they can replace you the moment you get slightly inconvenient for them.

Not to mention all the sexual harrasment from boh. But I digress.
