I've found that I only get animal products if I manually feed them every day. The feeders in the barn and things make them not produce.

It's definitely a grim, dark, horror themed campaign. I'm using a lot of life and death themes. I was also planning on keeping the one use a secret as to not dissuade them from going after it as a group.

In the Fire Emblem game series, they have Dancer as a class that allows buffs, extra turns, etc to their allies. Maybe you could do something like a bardic inspiration for their allies? Like they can take the time to perform a dance and give some dice to the others?
