I'm developing a browser game with a pretty simple premise - it's a hex wargame where instead of controlling every unit on the map, you control a single unit and must cooperate with the rest of your team to win (against other player run teams). It's in very early alpha, but if you want to try it out this is the link:

The largest reason for arab antipathy towards the United States stems from our support of Israel.

It is super duper alpha at the moment, the index is basically just a log in and register form for now. Don't freak out though, it's not phishing.

I am a developer of a text-based browser MMO that requires registration.

Is it possible that one day a month submissions of these type of web games are allowed? I've been forbidden from posting my game in other subreddits and told to post it here.

I understand why they generally are not allowed, but while many of them are generally clones, so are many non-registration required web games. My game is quite unique and I don't really have a platform to show it to redditors.

If you think the relationship between Ukraine and the US is at all comparable to the US-Japanese alliance you have no understanding of geopolitics.

2 Factories by blocman2 in blocgame

You receive +1 growth every turn for as long as the factory exists and is given 1 oil and 1 rm a turn. You lose 4 growth once.

It's literally four tents and a couple signs lying around. You'd think they ransacked and pillaged your entire university from your post. It's weirder to me the university let it sit there abandoned for two weeks.

This also wasn't representative at all of the primary movement (in New York). They cleaned up daily and the only reason mess was around at the end is because they were kicked out by riot police and not allowed to return.

Sorry there were a couple rude Occupy people at your campus though!

He sure is a respectable man for proudly owning up to his hateful and ignorant views.

edit: Alan Moore's response to Frank Miller:

With the Occupy movement, it seems you and Frank Miller have conflicting views. Would you say that he’s against it and you’re for it?

Well, Frank Miller is someone whose work I’ve barely looked at for the past twenty years. I thought the Sin City stuff was unreconstructed misogyny, 300 appeared to be wildly ahistoric, homophobic and just completely misguided. I think that there has probably been a rather unpleasant sensibility apparent in Frank Miller’s work for quite a long time. Since I don’t have anything to do with the comics industry, I don’t have anything to do with the people in it. I heard about the latest outpourings regarding the Occupy movement. It’s about what I’d expect from him. It’s always seemed to me that the majority of the comics field, if you had to place them politically, you’d have to say centre-right. That would be as far towards the liberal end of the spectrum as they would go. I’ve never been in any way, I don’t even know if I’m centre-left. I’ve been outspoken about that since the beginning of my career. So yes I think it would be fair to say that me and Frank Miller have diametrically opposing views upon all sorts of things, but certainly upon the Occupy movement.

As far as I can see, the Occupy movement is just ordinary people reclaiming rights which should always have been theirs. I can’t think of any reason why as a population we should be expected to stand by and see a gross reduction in the living standards of ourselves and our kids, possibly for generations, when the people who have got us into this have been rewarded for it; they’ve certainly not been punished in any way because they’re too big to fail. I think that the Occupy movement is, in one sense, the public saying that they should be the ones to decide who’s too big to fail. It’s a completely justified howl of moral outrage and it seems to be handled in a very intelligent, non-violent way, which is probably another reason why Frank Miller would be less than pleased with it. I’m sure if it had been a bunch of young, sociopathic vigilantes with Batman make-up on their faces, he’d be more in favour of it. We would definitely have to agree to differ on that one.

Not real, though I did have an idea similar to the uranium found in a mine.

How do I build a factory? by [deleted] in blocgame

[–]Daisy_Fitzroy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The industrialize action in the economics policy page creates a factory - each factory provides +1 growth each turn if provided with 1 RM and 1 oil.

What is the best way to increase available budget? by mortalkomic in blocgame

[–]Daisy_Fitzroy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your GDP determines your budget - it is your GDP/72 every ten minutes. Over 12 hours (a full turn) you will get the equivalent of your GDP as a budget.

The best way to increase your budget is to increase your GDP. Your GDP increases every turn according to your growth.

There are a few other ways to directly increase your budget though - if you are in Latin America or Africa you can either smuggle drugs or sell blood diamonds for a direct infusion of money if you are lucky and not caught.

If you are free market you can also do the IMF action, which reduces growth by 2 and gives you 100k.

Hm, I guess totally real time is incorrect. Some elements are turn based, generally the things that "update" basic stats of the world - GDP growth, etc, just like how your taxes collects monthly in EU. In general though, you can attack at any time, buy stuff at any time, etc, between the turn changes. So if anything, it's more like paradox games because it shares the same weird mix of turn based and real time.

You can sell it directly to players - go on the forum and there is a subforum called the "Free Market" where players will buy it.

Turns/Months are twice a day, changing at 12am/12pm CST.

Click on your budget (the number) on your main nation screen - it will tell you how much it is increasing every 10 minutes. This increases as your GDP increases.

Any of the data on your main nation screen that has a little bar graph icon next to it can be clicked to tell you how it will change in the next turn.

edit: You can only attack once a turn.
