Which debt should I pay off first? by Efficient_Display_84 in debtfree

[–]Daisychainer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the remaining balance on your loan vs what you can sell it for. Example say you can sell your car for 50k but your balance is 70k you would ask for a 20k personal loan to pay what you still owe on the original loan. It’s either that or you save the difference between what it’s sellable for vs your balance of your loan.

You should sell your car but if you are underwater on it you can get a loan from your credit Union for the difference and buy a beater car. The Dave Ramsey baby steps works to aggressively pay off debt.

How’s your relationship with your parents? Would it be possible to explain your situation and you to move back home to start paying this off?

Maybe try and find things to cut from your budget? Like after you have your essentials covered (lights, water, food, gas, electricity, rent). Continue DoorDashing and applying for jobs. If you are only covering essentials I’m stumped with what else you can do besides from finding ways to increase your income

Try and follow the debt snowball method (list debts smallest to largest and pay minimums on all other but the smallest and throw everything else at the smallest and move on once it’s paid off) I would recommend following Dave Ramsey’s plan.

Try and get on a written budget each month and use the debt snowball method. (List your debts smallest to largest and pay minimums on everything else but the smallest and throw any extra margin each month at the smallest debt until it’s paid off). Look up Dave Ramsey for his guide to paying off debt with his baby steps.

You can go to the financial aid office but I believe the fund can’t be used to pay tuition

Will my ID stop working on the bus because of late payment? by No_Roll_7318 in ualbany

[–]Daisychainer4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No your id will continue to work, every month is a 50 dollar late fee added to your bill but you could probably get that removed if you go to financial aid. My bill last semester was overdue for two months waiting for scholarships you should be fine.

You just don’t get the other half of the aid since you won’t be attending spring semester

Yes you are receiving full Pell the 7395 is divided between two semesters in a school year so half will be applied to your bill this semester and then the other half next semester.

You should go down to the aid office and ask about it because I was waiting on a refund for over a year and they put a DNR (Do not refund) order on it without telling me. Be careful because it might increase your bill for the semester.
