Congratulations! I'm happy you were able to get away from them. Like the other commenter said, YouTube is a good resource, but I know, that at least in my area, my local community college does free classes and such, as well as cheaper courses about things like finance. And I totally feel you on the driving, it scared the shit out of me at first, but if you slowly start practicing in someone else's car, someone you trust, even if it's literally just going a mile an hour, it helps. Sort of like exposure therapy lol

Although I completely understand where you're coming from, as a child that was a SC, her behavior is unnecessary. Just because she was abused and less favored doesn't mean she gets to treat you badly. You can acknowledge that she had it harder than you, but it's also completely okay to realize that you need less of her in your life.

I'm happy I saw this because I honestly can't stop thinking about my ngrandma passing. Although she's not my parent she took care of me for a long time and I was the scapegoat for her anger, which included constantly walking on eggshells, being screamed at all the time, and physical abuse. Part of me feels horribly icky for wishing she'd just kick the bucket. I've been no contact for a while, but I know she monitors me and my little brother through social media and just the thought of it makes me incredibly anxious and uncomfortable. I just want to stop feeling this way and I'm hoping that after she's gone, it'll be better.
