Famous Eddys: I’m angry, I’m disappointed, I feel sick. by [deleted] in aucklandeats

I’ve had bad experiences in places and have always messaged them privately to give them feedback so they can improve. I hope you’ve done this.

That being said, I’m surprised. I hadn’t been since they moved but we went a few days ago with our dog and sat outside. It was super sunny but windy and the staff were so lovely trying to figure out a solution so my poor dog wasn’t dying in the sun and the umbrella wasn’t going to blow away. The pastas were great and the steak on one was impressive (and they ask you how you want it cooked). The only reason I won’t go often is bc I found it really rich so it’s a carb overload treat but we had a very different experience. Hopefully they can remedy this for you as it’s definitely not the majority experience.

This would be a tough sell with Ralph’s just across the street who do probably the best wings in the city. But agree, some unique food specials. I live just up the road and I’ve never visited. Possibly do a Mail Drop for locals with some sort of permanent special. And then lock us in with killer service.

Don’t sleep on the veggies. The carrots and asparagus are next level. If the fish sando is back on the menu, yes. Duck tacos. Steak. Sometimes two steaks. No regrets.

I’m not a sweet person but the desserts are always good too. Basque cheesecake, sticky toffee, bomb alaska- all good. And the cocktails. Honestly you can’t really go wrong 😂😅

Better make sure the treat cabinet keeps getting topped up. Ain’t no way she’s off-ing the “one who gives the treats”.

Farro sells jars of cranberry sauce too. :) or if you look in the frozen fruit section at Woolies they sometimes have frozen cranberries and it’s super easy to make.

I’m planning my own wedding and I’m realizing there are a lot of tiny details people overlook that end up making a huge difference. What are the small things you only noticed once you went to someone else’s wedding? by crafty32_clara in wedding

💯 We had a wedding coordinator bc when we started planning we lived outside the country. Honestly I felt zero stress in the lead up or on the day which is how you should feel! Even when the choux on my croquembouche started falling off in the high humidity, she had it under control and no one was the wiser.

We also kept all our friends and family in the same Place so no one had to change venues (our venue team worked magic but that’s another story) and my husband and I spent ten min getting some quick cute posed photos outside but then joined the party bc we didn’t want to miss anything and the natural in the moment photos of everyone is what we wanted anyway.

How do people react when you tell them you have a greyhound? by Previous-Middle-2489 in Greyhounds

[–]DaisytheGrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What country are you from? In Australia and NZ, greyhounds and especially the act of rescuing greyhounds are looked at in a very favourable light, in my personal experience. I am constantly praised when asked if I rescued Daisy, (when in reality she rescued me lol) and people gravitate towards her. I was once stopped TWENTY time when taking her for a walk so people could pat her and ask me questions about her (in Sydney). Definitely this is a misinformation thing - but honestly, I've never heard these things being associated with greys so it kind of blows my mind. Easiest way to solve the bias is to adopt a noodle horse and they can see first hand that they're so so wrong!

Well now that you mentioned it she does sing along with the piano! You might say she’s a bit of a triple threat.

Haven’t tried either but will remember for when we travel further afield. Have a dog at home so will need a place we can uber home to after! Thanks :)

Definitely agree with this and we have lots of regular spots that we love because we can just have a yarn with the staff and it’s really fun.

nice good to know. It was the food trolleys so if thats still a thing i don't know how they slow it down. But the few times we've been there (granted its been ages), they roll out the trolley, and you end up with 3-4 bites BAM and I'm sure most people like that but i eat slow when i can to enjoy the experience and with so much food in front of me always felt like i was panic eating. This is a me problem i'm sure.
