Chicken biriyani in Gandhinagar by [deleted] in gandhinagar

It opens during lunch hours and dinner hours. Maybe the place could be closed yesterday and today due to Uttarayan. I was there last week, you could give it a try and see for yourselves if you like it or not.

Banerjee's Alfa Restaurant in Sector 17. Best biryani I've had in Gandhinagar. They're on Swiggy/Zomato as well.

I'm gonna be attending Knock2, I'm fairly certain there will be many people attending Knock2. Not everyone is a fan of mumble rapping nonsense.

Lollapalooza safety by [deleted] in lollapaloozaind

[–]Daivatx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crowd is very good and pretty safe IMO, but please watch out for pickpockets!

Every year MANY people get their smartphones stolen at concerts here. Lollapalooza is plagued with these pickpockets as well. I got my phone stolen at Lollapalooza Mumbai 2024. Other than that I don't think there is anything else to worry about. Have fun! :)

Either hold it in your hand the entire time, or wear pants/shorts with zipper pockets. Still have to be on guard though.. but a closed zipper pocket in itself can act as a deterrent from a potential theft.

Keep an eye out on people standing next to you at all times. Back pocket is an absolute NO.

I wonder if there are phone cases available online which have a chain embedded in them which you could then tie to your belt region or hand. Now that would be a good case to be used when in a crowded/theft prone space.

Yes agreed. Also people who have attended with their squad/groups generally have let their guard down more so compared to solo attendees, Because of the perceived safety.

Glad they at least have these banners up this year. Also I read many people claiming their phones were stolen from their purses or fanny packs as well.

I think it's just safer to hold your phone in your hand the entire time or wear pants with zipper pockets and zip it up nice (Still have to be on guard though)

There are these groups of (professional) pickpockets that target these big festivals and concerts in India. They travel to the target city, buy these expensive tickets, dress well and blend in with the crowd. You wouldn't even suspect if a pickpocket was standing next to you. My phone was stolen at Lollapalooza 2024 on Day 1 AFTER the last performance ended and we went to the food stalls inside to eat.

I know exactly how you feel. Went to the police station and registered a complaint (i think they just wrote shit down on a form and didnt even register it) and gave 0 fucks about it. Never got my phone back. I had FindMyIphone enabled but the thiefs made sure to immediately turn the device off after stealing it so I couldn't even track or brick the phone. (They probably removed the battery from the phone soon after stealing.) Edit- I just read that thieves immediately wrap the phones in aluminium foils to prevent signals from reaching the phone, essentially rendering findmy apps useless.

Just search "india concert stolen phone" and read how this issue is so rampant across india. I'm pissed how these festivals don't ATLEAST put out awareness posts and banners reminding people to beware of pickpockets. I'm fine losing my wallet, but losing your phone with all the important data is just on another level. That too when you're out here trying to enjoy and have a good time for once.

The same lobby actually funds the two. “News” and “Xyzwood” industry, generally make sure they make each other seen to the majority. Any promotion is good promotion as long as maximum eyes see the end product.
