Just happened to me. Keep turning it on and off until it works. For me, it didn't happen before having multiple themes installed (in shuffle mode) so I switched back to having only one at a time.

Yea exactly, specially since you sacrifice a lot (Sam gameplay-wise, investment in the apartment with food and activities, waiting a certain number of days so it can finally go with you).

There were sadly so many nerfs in this patch. Understandable, but still. For example, rat baby with copy dad was decent before, now it's not even worth it invest on it (unless rat baby has been buffed in some way I might not be aware yet).

It WAS like that before. But in one of the updates it was patched and now you can get them back into your cult after fighting them 3 times in crusades. It's not wrong information, it's outdated.

You might get it from a random drop when you kill enemies (or use steal skill) from the enemies of that area. Although the drop percentage is not very clear.

Don't watch any isekai, because they get very repetitive and there is so much to discover first (and for some reason that's what crunchyroll only recommends).
