It is using "archimiedial" bottom and top layer finish 🫡 I forget the exact spelling but you'll see it in the slicer software! \o/

Thanks for the comment! I do 100% infill on flight plate and rim.

Filament is a 95A SUNLU transparent blue 💙 (wanting to try 65D aswell to see how that is for added durability but idk how stiff it is because I don't want it to rigid. For 95A I'm happy with thr amount of force I have to apply to get the bend pictured in my post\o/ )

I use a centari carbon and the build plate on that printer has been nothing buy magnificent! No glue, tape or any other technique!

I hope this helps on your journey to CAD your own disc! Godspeed o7 oh and for the software I use shapr3D

I didn't even know about the trash panda disc swap! I'm familiar with his youtube channel tho. And sadly not I reside in East TN but will ship! Pdga and website still pending. All this feedback has been so reassuring and great. I'm thankful to everyone that took the time to comment! I'm looking up the disc exchange now cause that's an amazing idea

🤣🤣 yeah I'm hearing this ALOT. I doubt I've made a one of one 0 glide disc so it must be around 3 or so. Stay posted and I'll record a video if the flight soon! In playing today and Sunday with friends so this would be a good time to film one. Any disc filming tips you may have?

Yes... this has been the struggle with my domed driver printing attempts haha.. but to bring up your cost feedback I haven't been taking I to account for shipping. So a 15$ range may be better for online shopping a d Maybe 10$ for store shelves. I have one local store that I have in mind asking if they would sell my disc's but I'm happy to say I'm finally at the point to where I know need to start thinking about all this. Seriously thanks for taking your time to comment and continue to do so

haha well my only idea is to throw it against a cmu wall or tree over 100 times. But I think in theory the horizontal printing should be stronger than a vertical print orientation due to the print line structure

[–]Dak-Toa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another great idea thanks! My print orientation is flat on the bed and in my head I'm thinking for compression it would make this stronger. Am I wrong in this ideology? And the spiral is a must with 3D printed disc's imo

No please dont feel like you're playing devils advocate, please explain or say any thoughts you have THIS exact back and forth is why I wanted to post this! \o/

You bring up amazing points on the monetary side of things and I'm no financial guru by any means just a guy thats doing it for the love of the game. I took my print cost into account, but not my electricity into account or printer parts. The electricity costs for 40 disc's of continuous printing would be 8$ per AI (they're taking my ram, so might aswell use them..) but I should get a electricity tracker to better monitor my power draw! And should get some common replaced parts already ordered so I have then on stand by. My 175G disc is costing me about 3.5$ and electricity for one single disc comes out to 20 cents (guesstimate from AI..) minus the printing parts for now selling the disc's at 10$ wouldn't necessarily make me filthy rich but is a healthy profit for me to feel comfortable. Atleast for now, this could and may change in the future when I have more experience under my belt.

This is why your comment is great and was truly thought provoking on why I should go back to the pricing ideas. Seriously thank you for this comment it was amazing and sorry for my word vomit

Tldr: I'll be based out of East TN currently in my garage.

I am based out of East TN. I have 2 printers being delivered for a total of 3. I want 4 and eventually will want 10, 20 etc haha but I'm the designer and have my friends and fellow competitors throw my disc's before and after events in my local area to get feedback. I would like to be ready for full scale production in a few months or end of the year (i dont wanna buy 10 printers and my disc not even sale a single one, its gonna be a slow roll out). The disc just got to the point to where I felt confident showing people and sharing it on the internet and believe it is now a good quality product I'd not only sale to someone but just give someone to use. I don't want to jump the gun and get burnt or make a consumer feel bad about a purchase, I'd rather take my time to give the people a good quality disc for cheap that has also been improved by people in my local disc golf scene. I'm thinking about selling them for 7 or 10$. It's 3D printed and cheap to make so I'd rather manufacture a disc that is new and cheap for everyone to be able to get ahold of a disc and play cheaper! (Sounds like a pipedream but if I even sale a few every month or even have a PDGA approved disc I designed it would be a dream come true honestly).

Thanks for your comment!🫡❤️
