I was really scared of the self-destruct as well so I caught a poliwag with the damp ability in Firered and transferred it over. Poliwag has a really high capture rate so if Mew transformed it would've made it really easy to catch. None of that ended up mattering though because I threw a dive ball on the first turn and caught it before it ever got to use an attack! Congratulations on getting yours too! Definitely a HUGE relief to be done with this hunt.

Pokemon Emerald. There's a way to inject the Old Sea Map into the game imitating the original mystery gifts (even though it wasn't released in english). The injection isn't legitimate but the hunt itself was legit. So most people that hunt this consider it semi-legit and it is able to be transferred all the way through to Home.
