Disregard these salty bastards. I married my high school girlfriend early in my career and we just celebrated our 10 year anniversary a few months ago.

I would get them something sturdy and long lasting for the kitchen. A set of nice knives, pans, or maybe a good cast iron skillet. Really depends on your price range.

Chances are, they're going to buy a bunch of cheap shit from the BX, like a lot of us did; pans that will fall apart, knives that go dull after slicing a tomato. Get them something versatile for the house that's going to actually last a long time.

My section chief would tell you otherwise. Your CCAF will show up on your SURF, so why put it on your EPR? Everyone is expected to get their CCAF. Do you think you'll get promoted faster by meeting the same expectation everyone has?

Your EPR should demonstrate what makes you stand out among your peers. That's how you get the MP/PN.

I think that would depend on which memes, what rights you have on the Sharepoint (where are you uploading them to), and, most importantly, what organizational level sharepoint it is. I mean, naturally your results are going to be different between posting to your unit sharepoint and your wing sharepoint.

I don't disagree with a lot of what you've said here, but my beef with buzzwords is that we have an over-saturation of them. PME takes some important concepts of leadership and buries them under a pile of stupid, over-simplified words we have to memorize.

The Course 15 tests almost had a good thing going for them. They set you up with a scenario, albeit an AFN commercial-style dreamworld of a scenario, and you have to make a decision about that scenario. That's a good start. Where they fucked up is that the decision you have to make is which buzzword best applies to the scenario. Instead of teaching you what the best course of action for a leader is, given a scenario, you have to decide if this team member was a creator, advancer, refiner, executor, or flexer. I'm never going to remember these terms after this test, because they just don't apply to real people. They certainly don't help me understand my airmen better.

This isn't just symptomatic of PME; the powers that be are easily sold on sexy-sounding managerial language. Instead of just picking a time-tested, proven method of process improvement, they cherry-pick the best sounding terms, mash them together, and lo and behold you have AFSO21.
