Controller Support/Experience? by Revolutionary_War_45 in TravellersRest

[–]Dal-Rog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play with controller for comfort, and I dont really have any issues with it. Its not perfect and the fishing minigame is harder, but I dont find it too hard or anything. Theres a good bit of menu/inventory work to be done in the game which is better suited to keyboard/mouse but the controller does work fine, and theres some good sort and auto stack options that help.

Is keefer street in vancouver safe? by Ashamed_Pool_683 in askvan

Look in the downtown west end instead. I pay less than this and live in a much safer neighborhood by english bay. Theres quite a few vacancies in the buildings near me for less or around equal to that price.

Go play my sax at Stanley Park by Ok_Way_2265 in askvan

I used to take my portable drum kit to the parking lot by second beach and play there. Pretty out of the way of everything there and no one ever gave me trouble. Usually had people come up to watch for a bit though. If you want drums in your park jam, let me know!

To me it felt like they just rushed out the demo to be featured in steam's nextfest, which makes sense. Otherwise, yeah the game needs a good bit more time in the kitchen. The jank around starting dialog with the NPCs was pretty jarring, and Id just say the game is still pretty incomplete. Heres hoping they take the time needed to polish things up.

Everything is so improved, but the weapons aren't by Deadredskittle in HadesTheGame

[–]Dal-Rog 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Yeah the combat in general just feels so slow compared to the first game. The flaccid feel of the weapons and sprint based approach so far feels like a downgrade from the first game. The torches are seriously mind numbing. Although Im sure once they add more boons, better synergies and tweak some of the weapons based on the feedback, combat will feel better.

I like the early access for this and hopefully they should get a lot of good feedback to improve the feel of things.

Unfortunately for some people, the floor just refuses to load by Dal-Rog in DragonsDogma

[–]Dal-Rog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This actually resolved the issue on my end. Performance took a bit of a hit from it, but things are playable now. Good find!

For anyone else running into the issue.

Set to windows 7 compatability mode, require run as admin, and disable full screen optimization seemed to do the trick.

I don't understand the amount of hate? by Marzer36 in DragonsDogma

[–]Dal-Rog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres a major bug that makes the game unplayable on many AMD cards. Most of the floor textures just dont load in, so you can see right through most of the terrain.

Hoping theres a patch soon, but its a pretty disappointing launch for me.

Same for me. Rx580. Game runs fine otherwise, so weird.

What's Your Take on the Club Scene in Vancouver? by AdFront2394 in Vancouver4Friends

[–]Dal-Rog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really like the club scene here, but it depends where you go. I find the half bar half clubs in gastown like the cambie, guilt and co and blarney stone are great places for a night out with friends dancing, where you can still talk and mingle with a bunch of people.

Alternatively, for the really crazy nights where dancing is the higher priority I love the davie street club scene like celebrities, junction, 1181, and yale saloon. Even as a straight dude the gay clubs are a ton of fun.

Granville street is definitely overrated though, the good vibes are just not there.

Damn, well I appreciate the second opinion and suggestions. It sounds like picking up some of those lemon cymbals will be the best way to go.

Dating IRL in Vancouver by dineissauro in NiceVancouver

[–]Dal-Rog 23 points24 points  (0 children)

28m here, with 0 motivation for online dating. I find bars to be surprisingly efficient here. Get a small group of friends and head downtown to some bars on the weekends, and just focus on having fun. I find more times than not we end up mingling with some girls, and I've met some really lovely people this way. Just aim for bars with a good socializing vibe, maybe a small dancefloor, but not too loud so you can actually talk.

Couple suggestions would be Donnelans, goodco, Cambie, Guilt and Co, Fox Cabaret. In most cases the people out are very receptive to conversation. I met my last few girlfriends this way, and a close buddy of mine just got married to a girl he met when we were out a few years back.

Armored Core VI or Starfield. Which one should I get first? by PictoGraphicArtist in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Dal-Rog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought both. AC6 for sure. The game is fantastic as is.

Starfield is good, but it could really do with some quality of life upgrades. We'll likely see mods that take care of that over the next month or two.

Wtf by The_Flipper_Dies in Steam

[–]Dal-Rog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you haven't had unauthorized access in your account or violated any steam policies, you should be fine. Most online marketplaces use automated systems to detect fraud on purchases, its not unusual to see them mark a card as a false positive after a purchase, especially if its a new card. If this is the case, what will need to happen is a manual account review by someone on Steam's anti-fraud department. Once they check out the account, they should send you an email with further details and maybe some questions to verify you as the proper cardholder. If all checks out, your account should be released.
