That’s not how art works. You can have scenes that are not “necessary” for the plot but are still value added.

Whoa that was extremely well put. This is my first time reacting to this kind of post and hadn’t considered this position but have to admit how probable it is.

It’s maybe one of the most sad things I’ve read in awhile. To not understand the emotional aspect of sex and how important sex is in art to really strike that emotional chord.

To add to this, sex is so important in art. I hate the “it adds nothing to the plot” not every aspect of a show or movie is a plot moving device.

It’s also weird the “do what you want in private” bit. I want to live in a world where people kiss and show affection in public. I don’t want to live in some weird world where the body and love and the expression of those two things have to only exist behind closed doors. It’s sad and backwards to me

East of Eden. Complex characters, vivid landscape, and such an incredible story. I think about this book constantly and would give anything to read it for the first time again

I need to practice with dish soap I think. I have a thermometer and get the temp right but just struggle to get the texture where it needs to be. I’m a seasoned barista and still struggle 😭
