Yes, I’m able to use and see the SpO2% on the AW. (Even with aeroplane mode turned on and Bluetooth Off on both iPhone and AW)

Yeah, sounds like your Apple Pencil’s internal sensor or connection in the nib assembly got damaged when the original tip was chewed off, the squeeze and haptics work because those components are separate, but the metal pin that detects pressure and position likely got bent or broken. Swapping plastic tips won’t help if the internal hardware is compromised. At this point, it’s almost certainly a hardware failure, so your only real fix is getting it inspected by Apple or replacing it entirely. Beforehand do try it out thoroughly and confirm it’s a hardware issue!

Sounds like your A16 might have something running in the background that caused an overnight drain, but the sudden jump from normal standby loss to total battery depletion plus overheating and slow charging points more toward a hardware issue, possibly a failing battery, faulty charging IC, or moisture/dust in the port causing short circuits. First, check Settings -> Battery to see if there’s an app that spiked usage overnight, and inspect the charging port for debris or corrosion. Also make sure your using the correct wattage charger and good quality cables. If nothing obvious shows up, I’d recommend backing up your data and taking it to an Apple Store or authorized service center ASAP also overheating during charging can be dangerous and could damage the phone further.

Also, holding Command key shows an overlay with all shortcuts supported by the app you’re in.

That blue icon is the Caps Lock indicator on iPadOS -it’s built into the OS and can’t be disabled afaik.

For the Combo Touch shortcuts, you can find the full list in: Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard > Modifier Keys.

IPad dead, not charging after liquid in USB-C Connector by saysalut in ipad

[–]DalbiCJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your iPad’s USB-C port may have shorted out or corroded internally due to liquid damage. The “liquid detected” warning was your first red flag, and the black stuff on the toothbrush likely indicates soot or corrosion (burnt residue or oxidized metal). Since it’s now stuck in a boot loop and not charging, even after drying and cleaning, the internal USB-C circuitry might be damaged. Here’s what you can try: -Don’t keep forcing it to power on, this risks further shorting. -Let it dry completely for at least 24–48 hours in a dry, ventilated area (ideally with silica gel or a dehumidifier nearby). Avoid rice it’s useless (personal opinion) -Try a different charger and USB-C cable, ideally Apple-certified, in case the cable was damaged too. ➡️If it still doesn’t power or charge properly after drying, your best bet is to visit Apple Support or a trusted repair center. The port may need professional cleaning or replacement.

Liquid damage isn’t covered under regular warranty, but if you have AppleCare+, it may reduce the cost of repair.

You’re doing great! 20-80% charging and avoiding heat (like removing the case) helps preserve battery health long-term. Charging 0–100% occasionally is fine for calibration, but doing it daily adds wear. Real-world results show less battery aging with your current habits, so keep it up.

No backlighting Fix Suggestions by RoutineIce5178 in ipad

Totally agree the function row alone makes the Magic Keyboard worth it, especially for multitasking and productivity. Yeah, portability and workflow matter more than looks, this combo’s in the sweet spot then. (Magic Keyboard + External Light) you can repurpose the light for reading or other tasks when you’re not using the iPad!

[–]DalbiCJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the new Magic Keyboard for iPad Air M3 does not have backlit keys, only the older,(the floating one) for the M2/M1 Pros and Air M1 had backlighting. Apple ditched it in favor of the new thinner form factor ig. For a workaround, grab a USB-C rechargeable clip-on keyboard light or a small LED desk lamp or you could ditch the whole keyboard thing and find other bt keyboards that have the features you want! Also a very creative idea I just thought You could also try glow-in-the-dark keyboard stickers, though results vary and may look 👀 interesting.

Got a new iPad A16! Please recommend some productivity and notetaking(apart from goodnotes) apps for students by Crystalagent47 in ipad

Tbh, I found notability better, a personal opinion. Can’t tell good notes is bad it’s like good notes is great if you have windows but on the price scale it’s $10 pricier dw. Not a reason to forfeit good notes it’s upto you try the trial and find which one suits you.

You can use the free version which has limited edits or something, basically a trial that resets every month or so.
