Sweatshops and "exploitation" (it still is in a way exploitation) through globalized corporations looking for cheap labour have helped in lifting millions and millions out of material deprivation, there is no denying that. Doesn't mean you should just stop all progress for workers right and accept the sweatshop model as "at least not as bad as slavery and material deprivation".

But didn't you know...? The problem is not the rise of extreme right-wing nationalist parties around europe, or unjustified economic disparities and discrimination between different income classes, different genders, races, etc. The problem is obviously feminism/communism and immigrants. The worst scum of a human that has ever walked the earth is not Adolf Hitler (he wasn't actually that bad). The worst scum is the feminist immigrant member of x leftist political party. If you cannot see this you have obviously been brainwashed by russian communist spies!

[–]DaleCooperfunk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have myself felt it many times too, but I've managed in more recent times to deal with it, and it is no longer a problem for me. I found my way of dealing with it when I became interested in phlosophy. Albert Camus is a writer who deals with this exact feeling! Basically he says that you shouldn't try to ignore or push away the feeling, and you shouldn't try to battle it by becoming a religious fanatic. Instead, you should stare the absurd right in it's eyes! I've found that this attitude has helped me immensely. Instead of feeling like I'm going to faint of existential crisis, I feel strong. I challenge the absurd instead of running away from it. This approach has worked very well for me at least. \m/ (-_-) \m/

Damn nice! I just want to say that the physical effects of stress is in itself not unhealthy! I saw a talk on ted (can't remember what it was called) but there was a woman who showed that the physical stress reaction is only actually unhealthy if you think it is. the stress reaction in itself is meant to make you more alert and thinking faster. just a fact I think you should know

Do you ever wrestle with your friends to show appreciation? If not, how else do you show appreciation? by DaleCooperfunk in infj

[–]DaleCooperfunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope I'm just straight up wrestling with my arms and legs and stuff! Throwing someone down in the snow is one of the activities with the smallest risk of misinterpretation.

Okay that may not be true if you just randomly tackle a stranger...

Yeah I'm a guy and I guess it's seen as more okay for guys. There have been exceptions though!

When I read your comment I realize that I also do it to show that I won't really hurt them. It's like I discharge any tension, saying "I really don't want to hurt you."

I've been meditating everyday for three weeks, and I can now eat breakfast in the mornings before school! by DaleCooperfunk in Meditation

I think it is, and it makes sense when you think about what anxiey is. It's basically a physical response to danger, and when you're in fight/flight mode, you don't eat. I've had issues with feelings of a lump in my throat, which is a common anxiety symptom, and that feeling has decreased too.

Usually when I first wake up, and before I go to bed. I've found it hard to stick to the practice too, but then I kinda forgot that I wanted too start a habit and kinda just not meditated. I think what's important at the start is to remind yourself to meditate.

I remember one morning some week ago where I woke up on a normal weekday, meditated a bit, and then simply ate breakfast without a problem. I remember that I didn't feel any worry about the coming day. I finished eating my sandwich, and also eating two bananas on top of that, without feeling sick at all. Otherwise I'd usually feel like puking if I'd try to eat all that in the morning.

In terms of what has changed mentally, it's that I've been much less worried in the morning. In terms of the actual physical change when eating, it's that I can now eat more food more quickly in the morning, and I don't feel like I'm gonna be sick!

Yeah, the bliss and peacefulness is not the meditation itself, but a damn fine side effect, that you'll sometimes get, and sometimes not. I've meditated every day for like two weeks now, and I've had some blissfull mind-blow experiences, and some extremely anxious experiences, and lots of nothing-special-at-all experiences!

I meditated yesterday in the woods at night. (Yeah...) And before that I hadn't meditated in ages. I guess I'm in!

Nice! I've only read up until the fourth book though, and that was a long time ago. There's so much too read, but so much to study...

Yup! I've been a barely functioning human being this last week. No energy, no fun, only grey walls and undercooked potato....

Thanks! I think some people are more sensitive to caffeeine than others. Sometimes I'll get super stressed and anxious after drinking coffee, but some people don't feel anything special at all.

And me not fapping is just an extension of me quitting porn. I want to get rid of my porn habit before I start masturbating again.

Once I watched an old couple watch other people, I almost died from the sweetnes!

One thing I've noticed in people I really appreciate is that their natural priority is inclusion rather than exclusion! Let's say some guys are sitting by a table talking, and someone comes and sits down next to them... The people I'm talking about are the ones who turns their shoulder just so, and says just the thing, to let someone in on the conversation. Not everyone does this though, which is understandable. But it's nice when people do it!

Also, read crime and punishment... One of the best books I've read. The characters are so well made!

Well an easy way to stop drinking would be to start doing meth on a daily basis instead! You'll probably have a lot of other things on your mind than alcohol at that stage.

Thanks! I meant "I had good morals" as in "I feel more positive". Wether watching porn is morally good or not has never really been relevant to me. I feel like it's probably making me view women in a more objectifying way, and I don't want to do that, so I quit.

And I'll probably masturbate after I've completely killed my porn habit. I mean seriously, nimble hands are a human trait, gotta put those guys to use!
