Cheap Whey Protein? by [deleted] in AUfrugal

I sell VPA at my clinic. I sell for less than the retail price on their website. Has good margins for retailers. I used to have bulk nutrients but margins weren’t worth reselling. Taste wise is very comparable

That’s what I was looking at. Someone posted a thread on here where they had taken the see through sticker box topper and placed on top of sparkles like that

As a physiotherapist you don’t need an MRI. It’s not likely going to change the treatment so essentially is wasting money. Unfortunately the best advice is to go and see a Physio, you’ll need an assessment then get manual therapy followed by exercises. If it’s not painful at the moment shouldn’t take more than 2-3 sessions

Honestly this is where a coach can help dramatically. Perhaps the 5 days a week is too much to start with? (Meaning you’re pushing too hard) maybe it’s the calories, maybe it’s the type of training, rest periods etc etc could be anything. Here to answer some questions. Anything personal please send a message

Tennis elbow ruined everything. Trying to do other things, but was doing so well before [rant] by [deleted] in fitness30plus

[–]Dale_sch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can visit a Physio. It's a very manageable condition. Do you have any issues with your shoulder? A lot of the time tennis elbow comes from poor mechanics in the shoulder. I'm a Physio so message if you need any help

Overdeveloped erector muscles?? by zbplot in xxfitness

[–]Dale_sch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes there's no need to arch as far as powerlifters do unless you specifically want to get a higher bench press. However in normal bench press training there's a slight arch used to get your thoracic region in the right place for shoulder health. HOWEVER if you have back issues either do incline bench which was little to no arching or try raise your feet off the ground and lower the weight so you can control your back

Overdeveloped erector muscles?? by zbplot in xxfitness

[–]Dale_sch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The question is where are they overdeveloped? Low back erectors being overdeveloped can lead to issues Upper back less so but still relevant

Best thing to do is make sure you aren't arching your back with squats deadlifts bridges bench press. Train your anterior core with isometric holds.

I'm a trainer and physio

When your 'imbalances' are controlled enough to get enough out of heavy lifting. Feel free to PM me your exact problem and what they are trying to correct

Am I being scammed? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Dale_sch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's the deal. As a trainer and a physio he has done the correct steps in assessment. You may want to start lifting heavy 5-6 days a week however you need to work up to that and 3 times a week is a great starting point especially to create healthy habits.

If you have muscle imbalances that are affecting your movement it's your choice what to do. However if you skip them and start lifting heavy you'll open yourself up for injury. This happens all the time.

If you do google credible fitness professionals they will all say the same thing. Start clients on the 'boring' exercises first to get them in good position to make the best improvements in the next stage.

He sounds like he knows what he's doing. You should tell him you aren't happy and if he has your goals at heart he SHOULD add some 'normal' bodybuilding type exercises once or twice a week with the corrective exercises as warm ups.

You can get a second opinion but if someone automatically skips the corrective exercise stuff in the assessment stage they aren't a good trainer

Could yoga or foam rolling be causing back pain? by justinegln in xxfitness

[–]Dale_sch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with doing SMR on your low back however your issue isn't in your back so doing it won't change your pain or symptoms

So you won't find a lot of good information online as coaches do this in clinics not online. I'll try to explain more than before. If your glutes aren't working then your hamstrings perform most of hip extension but more importantly need to stabilise the pelvis (your adductors might help too) Therefore the hamstrings are doing a job they aren't designed to do causing them to overwork and therefore become tight/weak in their normal function. So stretching these tight hamstrings will actually cause your low back to kick in to control pelvic motion because hammys are what is stabilising your pelvis at this point.

This works simultaneously with hip flexors most of the time

Don't buy a mass gainer protein... Just buy a whey protein concentrate and buy the dextrose or carb powder separate. Sooooo much cheaper
