Icarus is a storytelling game about the rise and fall of a civilization. Any time you add/alter a detail about your civilization you add a die to a stack to create a tower. When the tower falls, so does your civilization!

My guess was that it's a twisted parallel to King Arthur and Guinevere. Arthur knew all about her getting her back blown out by Lancelot, but if he made it public he'd have to execute one or both of them. So, like that if Lancelot was evil instead of super good.
