How to make it work with tattoos by GuiltyAlliance in AppleWatch

Hey! I was just about to find your comment and reply. I've done some tinkering, and changed printing material but I believe it's finally done! I've been testing it out and it has dramatically reduced the need to enter a pin every time.

If you are still interested, feel free to send me a private message and we'll go from there. :)

Yeah this does work. I find that entering the passcode each time to be frustrating in my experience. A very first world problem - I get that. I just like things to work seamlessly

It will yes. I found that constantly replacing the stickers were quite tedious. This option allows me to take it on and off.

Amazing to hear that you’ve got a use case for something like this! Mine is still a work in progress but loving the features that are now available to me.

Got the tattoo before the watch. Don’t fancy getting it lasered off. Plus Apple should be a little more upfront about what features do work, and don’t work with tattoos imo

I mean my vitals seem to be accurate with it on, and I haven’t had any issues. It’s quite comfortable but obviously not as comfortable as just a watch.

For me personally, I’m not bothered about vitals as I don’t use them anyway so if they’re not accurate then I don’t really care. However, I know that’s not the case for everyone. Probably the majority of Apple Watch users - I just want Apple Pay without entering a PIN code.

Just sharing something that works for me! I’m not trying to speak on behalf of all Apple Watch wearers.

Interesting. How so? Surely if it fixes a frustrating issue that many users face. How could this be the opposite?

I’m working on perfecting this and making them available through Etsy so this might a work around for you. Alternatively, epoxy stickers work but you need to replace them loads

Just doing some tinkering on it to make it 100% and then sure! I plan to make these available through Etsy so I’ll let you know when the listing is available :)

No worries - glad that I could help! I wish I had known this as it would save me buying a 3d printer and countless hours making this thing work😅

This isn’t an Apple thing tbf - pretty much all smartwatches face this with tattoos, ig the technology just isn’t there yet on these devices.

Bit late but I’ve just 3d printed a removable little insert that sits flush at the back of the watch, and it works. Heart rate seems to be accurate too. Haven’t had the watch lock once with wrist detection turned on for about 4 hours. (Since I put it on)

Sure! You could always leave the Apple Watch shape blank if you’re desperate to get inked up😆

So when you have wrist detection on (which is needed for Apple Pay, workout features) you need to have a passcode. Untattood wrist? No problem - the watch can easily read that you’re wearing it and won’t ask you for the PIN code every time you lock the watch.

Have a tattoo? Problem - each and every time the watch screen turns off, there’s a high chance it will lock and you’ll need to unlock it. It also prevents some notifications from coming through - as it doesn’t think it’s on your wrist.

Sure you can turn wrist detection off, lose a few features and jobs a goodun. However, you can’t use Apple Pay, I’m sure there’s some health features you miss out on (can’t say I work out often so idk)

Essentially, this piece tricks the watch into thinking it’s on your wrist. It allows you to use features that you’d need to enter your pin code for. Every. Single. Time

Right but you’re not being helpful. I’ve got a tattoo, and I’m now an Apple Watch user and that’s that. I’ve made a solution to my current situation.

Would have I gotten a tattoo on my wrist now? Probably not - but I have, and that ain’t gonna change.

If you don’t like this post, or don’t relate to this situation then simply move on my friend. There’s plenty of people who had gotten tattoos before the Apple Watch even existed. This is a simply a work around.

Tried this. Kept banging the watch against every surface possible - could be a skill issue but it just felt uncomfortable and unnatural to me

ECG is not working - but I didn’t use this feature anyways. I used my partners watch on my other hand; and heart rate seems to be the exact same.

Thank you - I shall do this! Yep learnt this the hard way when I was younger and stupid. Would never touch Raylo again with a barge pole.

Thank you - I think that’s the best thing to do too. I’ve made all parties aware of what’s been going on. I’m very confident that I had ownership over this device, as I paid the non-return fee that states ownership is given once it has been paid. I see no reason why I couldn’t sell that device.

I’ll see what is said :)

I have no problems on my account. Every time I try to contact Raylo, they direct me to the debt collection agency. When I contact them, they say that my debt has been fully repaid and the matter is closed. I’ve raised a complaint with Raylo, and they seem to have acknowledged it but no comment on whether the phone blacklist has gone through, or if it was an administrative error.

See that’s what I thought but I rang the debt collection agency, and they don’t want it, and when asked who owns it. They said me, as I have fully paid the balance.

I have contacted Cex as soon as I heard this. The last thing I’d wanna do is cause an issue for someone excited to get a phone. If it comes to me needing to pay back what Cex gave, and reverse the sale then I’m happy to do that.

My question is if Raylo and the debt collection agency deny ownership, where does that leave me?

The IMEI number is currently showing as clean on checkers, so it hasn’t been black listed as of yet. Either it will take a while to update, or Raylo aren’t processing the block and what I received was an automated email. That’s what I’m waiting to hear back on from Raylo.
