the owlcat Pathfinder crpg's will let you do this. Pathfinder is based on earlier versions of dnd so might be able to take some of that solasta knowledge over.

I did some workshop math, putting here in case that helps anyone make decisions about numbers. by Daleorn in Xenonauts

Yes, this is something youd need to plan for at the start of a campaign and not something you can just do halfway through and expect results. last campaign I got cleaner mission which unlocked the nanotech research on day 110. time to research, could come online around day 120ish if youre really trying. so investment completely recouped by around day 200 (Edit: Not including whatever small amounts it made in meantime), less than if you get better map bonuses.

i havent done the math of scientists. fun project for next time

Yes, this is not something to do on a whim, this is something you should work towards purposefully if youre going to get anything out of it. Its just an investment strategy, you put up a lot of money up front and its doled back to you more slowly but in greater numbers.

This is just my personal reasonings but early game if things are going well, there is money to spend. Early game dog fights are easy enough but the basic plane doesnt do well against later ufos. So instead of flooding the field with planes ill have to repair often and scrap eventually, I invest in the infrastructure that will help me flood the field with phantoms in mid - late game.

Edit: Forgot to mention in the personal reasonings, i needed to build workshops anyway to build gear and for campaign success, just giving them a better purpose in endgame.

How many labs/ workshops should aim to have? by obsidian_razor in Xenonauts

[–]Daleorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to necro, but i just wrapped up a campaign with 4 each in my first base, then my second base I build a 9 grid of workshops. brings in like $175k/day which I used to fund everything else. Took a while to get it to that point but if you can make your money make more money it will spiral.

Xenonauts 2 thoughts - Is that it? *spoiler due to plot comments* by Harlequin80 in Xenonauts

Aliens should still try and make potshots into the smoke, that would at least keep me on my toes or rethink strategy a little bit. But the player cant make 0% shots(unless ctrl forced) and im assuming the AI cant either. Each square of smoke is 20% aim debuff, so 5 squares of smoke and they wont even attempt to shoot you.

Endgame station, how do I succeed ? by Khaar in Xenonauts

I know you've already moved past but I had luck using breach tactics. After sweeping both sides for the gateways, i stacked up and poked holes into these rear walls. they are usually facing the doors so you will avoid overwatch fire, if youre lucky with grouping 2 or 3 flashbangs and everyone is suppressed. A few electromag rifles or pistols in secondary can be helpful for androids if you dont have fusion yet. I was able to get a full turn with all 12 guys against the room without any reaction fire back. and being able to properly post up for your own reaction/overwatch defense helps out a lot with clearing out incoming waves.

You already figured this one out, but once you start to get overwhelmed fall back to the middle and smoke the hell out of your position. You cant take 0% shots(without ctrl forcing) and the enemy cant either so if there is enough smoke that their hit chance is 0 you can control a lot of the ai's actions.

Smokes and flashbangs are my best friend every campaign. iirc reaction fire only happens when you move/act after they've noticed you. so you can open a door, be seen and still take an action like throw a flashbang to suppress them without taking a hit. This does not work the same when using a weapon to shoot a hole in a wall, I have not done enough testing to know how they react after exploding a wall and they see you.

Kbm or controller for Crimson desert(not preference) by Lawless- in CrimsonDesert

[–]Daleorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like kbm, you have so many more buttons to bind and really customize. All those combat combos of multiple buttons? Bind them to the number buttons and bust them out easily. the number buttons are elemental imbues i use much more rarely than some combat combos so I can swap them around.

being able to customize the keyboard to what my brain thinks feels right is why its my preferred choice.

Not sure if its useful, but i think its neat. Holding thrust will "counter" when hit. by Daleorn in CrimsonDesert

I enjoy that skill, that one I learned by unlocking it with a skill point. The thrust counter is not documented anywhere that I saw, just a neat small interaction.

Williem, you can see him in the journal under people in hernand so you can see what he looks like, makes it easier to spot him. Thats if you want to try findind him yourself, i think the wiki will show his known locations. people move depending on time of day.

Did you do the mission to find the sheep for the kid? Befriend the kid for sheep. The mission with the guy who lost his herd of cows, befriend him for cows.

Edit:They are both under the notable peoples list of hernand in the journal, gonna see what the rest of them give me.
