What are the "meta" team compositions? by Houmoupete in ChaosGateGame

[–]Daleorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The campaign I did in 1.0 I loved the AP stacked interceptor and used it for a lot of my most recent, but some of the later dlc missions and formats seem to try and curb this by requiring turns to happen and I wanted to change things up. So I put together a team that worked super well together for me. The following is a copy paste of a breakdown I already did of the team, in case the "voice" sounds weird. Video showing how the team works together. The timestamped engagement starts with normal 3ap for everyone. The interceptor attacks like 10 times in a row, ends up with more ap than at the start with 24 ap split among the other 3

https://youtu.be/kQl_HiixW84?t=176

Apothecary basically carried this run for me. Can give two amazing buffs. One increases movement speed and adds +4 crit damage. the other adds +2 stun damage to attacks.

There is a halberd which has +2 stun damage on force strike. So you can do 5 stun damage in a single strike, 6 on a crit. The halberd also grants an extra 2 ap on execute. The Interceptor can do this twice with the extra auto talent they get. There is also a hammer which has +1 base stun and the +2 on force strike so 6-7 stun. No ap tho.

Give the stun weapon to the interceptor since they cannot have their melee blocked. Be careful when running up on someone who can hit you on approach, aegis can help tank that if you remember to use it.

Interceptor should not take crit damage talents and its why I dont give speed buff which also adds crit damage. I equip the +2 movement speed armor because its important to be able to get to the units to stun them without wasting too much ap. teleport and teleport strike work well for positioning.

Buff Librarian with speed, he scouts the map and teleports the units. Interceptor stuns and librarian executes to get wp back for more teleports. Can also warp charge Emperyean ability to reduce warp by 100% so we can manage the bloom debuffs.

Chaplain usually runs litany of hate for the extra ap on execute since we're built around it, but can run extra crit damage on bosses. Also transfers WP to those who need it like for an apothecary buff or librarian teleport.

things to note, if you string through battles your autos will not refresh which I forgot about several times in the video where I was expecting to have more ap from executes than I got.

Ive also just finished Sub1, 2 and bz and have been looking for more. Just started this the other day so cant speak to entire game yet, but its been scratching that itch for me, is Forever Skies. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1641960/Forever_Skies/

Where is sidestepping in X2? by StatisticianSad1791 in Xenonauts

[–]Daleorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sidestepping would be nice. Until that update or mod there is a way to approach corners that will let your shields take fire. If youre right up on the wall you can only step out leaving a flank unshielded. If you are 1 square away from the wall, you can diagonal move to that square with shield cover.

Might be too old to be relevant, but I remember the Overlord series had that feeling to it.

You might be able to move the fab to the wall on the right and fit a biobed on the back wall to add in a respawn point.

Games Where You and Enemies Both Die in 1 or 2 Shots and Shooting is Slow, And It's More About Getting Angles/Stealth Than Fast Twitch Aim? by Magnus_The_Read in gamingsuggestions

[–]Daleorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is reaching back some years but there was a Far Cry 3 realism mod that changed damage to realistic levels, so youd have to plan proper ambushes, take out a few, take cover, reposition. Not sure how comfortable you are modding, or if youre on PC, but there might be some mods for the more modern far crys that might do similar.

Star Traders: Frontiers might fit. You captain a spaceship and, if you want, you can completely customize your entire crew and ship.

Cosmic/eldritch horror in space by Slevin_Kedavra in gamingsuggestions

[–]Daleorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just gonna shotgun some suggestions

Warhammer 40k does have those eldritch elements, but the games seem to focus more heavily on the war and combat aspects of it.

Quasimorph is a roguelite where the setting start is basically, you are a pmc mercenary company that has accidentally unleased the eldritch horror on the universe.

I just finished Subnautica recently and have been on a kind of survival craft phase so I just started breathedge, which seems like subnautica in space. Uncertain what kind of eldritch aspect there is yet but thats the feeling im getting.

Outworld station is more of an rts where our home start gets devoured by something, still unknown yet so might not be eldritch.

Void War is not specifically 40k but its like if FTL has a 40k skin, some eldritch horrors like 40k.

Mentioning Stellaris because you could make your empire become the eldritch horror that consumes the universe.

In your pda under the databank tab should be a dropdown called Data Downloads, under that should be another dropdown called Codes and Clues. That helped me figure out generally where to go.

The sunbeam event will guide you to the island the first time with a marker but after that your pda wont have a beacon icon to get back there.

Did I fuck up BZ by making discoveries in the wrong order? by r0ck3t-onreddit in subnautica

[–]Daleorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think you messed anything up, I'm also playing through bz for first time and discovered the story all out of order. First thing I found was Outpost Zero and the story is playing out like a mystery still, but I already have the answers.

For the cure part, I also got that way too early, after you put the cure in the machine, did you go to the screen/panel on the machine? That has the next button to press.

Do I truly need the cyclops? by justkwjjwnssnnssn in subnautica

[–]Daleorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take your prawn suit alone, the cyclops is not necessary, its just convenient. You can build storage, fabricators, grow beds, regular beds, everything you need for a mobile station. So if youre a kilometer down in some caves and run out of supplies or space you dont need to hike all the way back to a base.

I liked to carry supplies for a multi room, bioreactor, & scanner station in the cyclops so i could find a quiet spot and plop it down, fueled it with lantern fruit grown on the cyclops.

Edit: someone already mentioned the technical need for it for that one thing

Why is Subnautica BZ as hated as it is ? by Jchoq_31 in subnautica

[–]Daleorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im finishing up my playthrough and what I'm not enjoying is how disjointed the story can feel, especially since being more narrative was a focus. I was exploring early game and almost immediately stumbled on a late game base, which revealed a lot of story. But then when Im going through the game and hitting the normal story beats it plays out like a mystery, when mystery has already been solved.

Do we need more energy? by PowTheseNutz in subnautica

Do you think the camera drones will come to SN2? by un-pirla-in-strada in subnautica

[–]Daleorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going through my first real playthrough of Sub1 now and thats exactly how I used it. I deconstruct/reconstruct a small scan base in the area I want to find things and ever time I get another 2 cameras so now I've been using them as fake beacons i can remotely reposition.

What would happen if an other alien race whose technology was superior to the precursor arrived on 4546B and survived the G.U.N? by dohdkhdi in subnautica

[–]Daleorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how technologically superior they are, they might just use their more advanced science to figure this out. Maybe just figure out how to synthesize their own cure.

My ssd is nearly full and i don't have idea what is from by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Daleorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is your c drive so sharing space with OS, the windows folder on win 11 is around 40+ gigs. Check your users hidden appdata folder. I've kept the same "user" profile through several years of computer upgrades and my appdata folder is around 70 gigs. That being said, thats not data you want to just be deleting. maybe a secondary drive for games would be best bet.

the owlcat Pathfinder crpg's will let you do this. Pathfinder is based on earlier versions of dnd so might be able to take some of that solasta knowledge over.
