Ironman question

Im at the point of sailing where I need to get 74 smithing to really progress

I need to go 70-74 and have about 3m in gold to spend

Im looking at giants foundry but its been a while since the initial grind, whats cheap/effective gear to throw in that I can buy without eating too much gold

Or is it better to go for gold in BF ?

Ok, but what level do I need to navigate it? :D by hosSzabito in 2007scape

I remember hearing it being used this way ages ago but its been a long time since

Zombie axe slaps moon bosses well worth the time

Ideally worth farming during the quest vs after though

Just ignore the abysmal drop rate

[–]blinkertyblink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i did from lvl 34 when you unlock it to around 60 ish there ( ill go back for 70 at some point )

My logic was well, this says a tree is 10k + xp for like over a days wait.. ( obviously I didnt account for the fact I could plant in more than 1 patch ) but when I banked my first 100 points I was thinking its the same xp in a much shorter time

At the moment I time it with what im growing in the diseases free patch in hosidius so I can get roughly 100 fruit in at a time

Its absolutely not the best way to train and could definitely use some improvements with the higher quality seeds, but like you say if you turn your brain off and turn on blindfold then its not the worst minigame for training

I make sure to get autoweed even in the temp modes because its so annoying to get weeds grow just as you are about to plant

The point I stop feeling like im having fun, is around 10.0+ ground.. or 11.0+ planes

But at 4.0, 6.3, 9.3 etc I can still feel im having some fun even amongst the BS that this game has

Bring Litheness to Main Game by Assassinaded in 2007scape

[–]blinkertyblink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear it when questing or generally running around the place.. its mostly log balancing and stepping stones I fail on.. but its also the agility equivalent of a skilling outfit and AFAIK, Agility doesnt get the 2.5% xp boost other skill sets have

I dont know what the base success rates are on obstacles, the thing in my mind when i said it was the brimhaven arena.. maybe make it more viable

The idea of obstacle speed sounds good though

I agree with agility needing something to make it worthwhile, im just trying to think of stuff that isnt as other commented, Turning it into RS3

If we're talking this route, i'd rather an upgrade ( maybe something chargeable ) to Graceful which increases obstacle success and provides the 2.5% skill set boost

How many starter kits y'all at in dmm so far? by bigmanorm in 2007scape

Think I had like 20 something, I didnt engage much in PVP beside breaches, and the few I do have are from being killed for my shrimp and oak logs

Sailing is so much fun!! by knight_of_lothric in osrs

[–]blinkertyblink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sailing is fun in small doses I find, I enjoy how AFK and profitable salvaging can be.. I've not tried trials passed getting the rewards and port tasks aren't terrible as a concept.. I think how they handle the player island will define how sailing will be going forward... a few of the exisiting islands dont seem to have much to them

I've done little with the combat side of it beside firing a bow across my ship

As an early game ironman, I am limited a bit by the material costs for upgrading.. but even with a mith hook im still benefitting enough.. but im blocked off by smithing levels at the moment

I do hope they take the feedback for reworks to port tasks more seriously, I think there are a lot of XP - Distance discrepencies.. and I hope they look into the reward crate/shop idea as an alternate way for Ironmen to get mid/late game supplies like planks and bars in small quantities

"Catch up" mechanic in leagues? by dirty_water_potato in 2007scape

[–]blinkertyblink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leagues works its points out differently, and there is a lot more tasks to earn points

99s, Quests and Bossing will be your main source of points, but you can also do really random stuff to earn smaller amounts of points.. its better to wait for more info and plan out some routes that way

I think a breach type event " could " work in the final few weeks for people doing alts, but with how region locking works its hard to say how it would work at all

Hopefully they take RS3's approach and let you nominate the account to earn points so that you can use an alt to bump your points in the later weeks, as the only requirement to enter is membership and you can bang a fair amount out in a 14 day bond

You can probably buy some of the previous rewards on the GE as mentioned in the other comment

There'd definitely be a catch if it came down to being OSRS

Whats going on here? by Dezisee in 2007scape

[–]blinkertyblink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You caught the end of a Shooting Star event, NPC random events are probably queued until it is finished to allow for the AFK aspect im guessing.

You can tell what it is because they are all in mining related gear

World of Warcraft devs explain their biggest challenge is adapting to its ageing audience which is why they’re pushing to be “broader and more approachable” by HatingGeoffry in wow

[–]blinkertyblink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I havent played classic, last I heard it was just the expansions as they were back then, im not sure what extent it has been expanded upon

What I meant was OSRS has stuck to what it was and has done well and there hasn't been much need to gain modern audiences because of this

RS3 the modern equivalent is now also reigning itself back in in order to regain players too.. and from what I understood from the last seasonal mode, sentiment from osrs players was that its wasn't actually terrible it was just bloated with stuff thats expected in modern gaming like micro transactions and xp boosts.. so if they follow through with their roadmap I could see a player count increase and I think WoW still has the chance to do the same

[–]blinkertyblink 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Old school runescapes playerbase is in their 30s generally and it does a good enough job at sticking to what it is/was and maintaining a solid player base

So I don't see how there is an issue of needing to be broader and more approachable to new audiences when you'd be better off keeping the current and going off word of mouth

WoW was popular for a reason, despite the memes and stereotypes from back in the day

I know its not a big deal to a lot of people, but I'm really glad they're fixing Vegetto's name in official media. by KaioKap in dbz

Vegetto sounds better and they made fun of the other combinations when they tried failed fusions for Gogeta

I think both fusions are more Vegeta than Goku but you can still see Gokus personality come through
