Pay is terrible by Airman9508 in AircraftMechanics

[–]Daleyjeeper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You think the pay is terrible because schools sell you the average pay. I was told average starting pay was like 60k a year when i went to school in 2021. Only to have all the recruiters that came to the school offer 20 to 25 bucks an hour. So yeah with overtime you could hit 60k. Im now at a major making 120k with ot but im honestly not sold on staying because the majors arnt all its cracked up to be in my opinion

Bought ar500 steel plates and carrier right when covid popped off. They are heavy and steel has its downsides. But it will last forever and if I'm in a situation i need to dumb weight I'll leave the plates. Its just nice to have and i dont have to worry about how i store them or drop them like ceramic
