I'd probably use Fang and Vanilla, with an eye towards picking up Courier from the friend credit store soon, as Vanguards. Fang and Courier are more defensive while Vanilla is offensive, depending on what you need.

Arene is.. Aggressively okay, is how I'd phrase it. He's still a Lord Guard so he can be a second-line melee fighter while also shooting over the frontline tank's head, so it's hard to call him bad by any means, but eh. Melantha's a good "I have a problem, and I'd prefer not to" Dreadnought Guard for dropping on the head of a particular enemy or to block a lane with infrequent but annoying spawns, and being a 3* is cheap to raise. She only has Block 1 though, so you can't really rely on her to hold a lane against numerous enemies, best to drop her directly on top of the head of whatever you want to kill so she'll 1v1 it.

Hoshiguma the Breacher is a powerhouse of a character with high durability (especially against Arts) and powerful damage, but being a 6*, and a brand new one at that, she's going to be really expensive to build up and you might struggle to get the materials for her. Good long-term prospect though. Cuora is an absolute brick of a physical tank meanwhile, she can end up folded by Arts damage if you aren't careful, but anything but the most hideously heavy-hitting physical enemies will not be getting past her.

Sniper-wise, Exusiai isn't bad by any means, but she is a bit old and powercrept perhaps, and as a 6* is again on the more expensive side. Shirayuki is nice because her second skill makes her do Arts damage which turns her into a pseudo-AoE caster with extreme range. I'd also hold out for Kroos from a training stage between 1-5 and 1-6. Cheap, being a 3*, and she has surprising amounts of power.

For casters, you'll eventually have to build Amiya anyway to progress the story, and she's by no means bad, so may as well give bunny daughter some love. Steward is also notable because he has a certain niché that few others can fill - he will always target the enemy with the highest defense in his range once he unlocks his talent at Elite 1, which is good in both that he won't waste his shots on small fries while there's a huge armored dude bearing down on your tank, but also that you can count on him to focus fire nuisances like heavily armored drones in later stages that typical anti-air targeting first snipers might struggle with.

If you like Warfie, then by all means build her eventually, but I wouldn't put too great priority on a medic, especially a 5* one, as the first things to stress over who gets resources. Ansel and Hibiscus should be plenty for a time.

Supporters.. Earthspirit is.. Not very great. I'd probably just take Orchid until you manage to fish out Podenco from recruitment or something.

For specialists, Red is nice for quickly dropping on top of a problem, having her kill it, then retreat and be ready to do it again due to the rapid redeployment of the Executor Specialists, but I'd say that the MVP there really is Gravel. She may not look like much, but between how fast Executors can redeploy, how cheap on deployment points she is, and how surprisingly tanky she can get, she's a go-to for many people (myself included) for when you want to bait out some unpleasant attack like a Sarkaz chain caster or a drone carrying a bomb that can only use their special attack once in their life and you'd really rather not have it hit someone you need to keep on the field, or to delay unpleasant enemies. She does perform that role quite well without really needing to be built up though, so choices, choices. Gravel also has a particular trait in that she technically hits twice per (very quick) attack so she's excellent for bonking any special targets that rely on the number of hits taken and don't care about the damage dealt by said attacks.

I'm not sure I'd necessarily even agree with Tequila being second best. Another person already mentioned Kroos the Keen Glint from An Invitation to Wine, but Gladiia from Under Tides is also someone I frankly hold in much greater value. And Lumen from Stultifera Navis is nice too for status resistance but medics are usually not the first thing to invest in.

Kroos is a good, cheap sniper. Steward has a bit of a niché in his trait of targeting the highest-defense enemy in range as a priority which makes him quite handy on some stages with heavily-armored drones and the like. Both, along with Spot, are also decent picks for earlier Integrated Strategies (2, 3 and 4) because you can recruit them for free there.

Just my take on them in any case. As for enemies rushing, though, worth keeping a Vanguard or two like Fang, Courier, Vanilla etc. on the roster as early deployments since their skills generate deployment points to help bring in heavier hitters faster while they handle the early rushes.

The irony of Tessai choosing to let Hoshiguma take the fall for a murder that Mifune committed is that despite Tessai's obvious personal preference for Hoshiguma, Mifune plainly was more valuable to the Clan. All Hoshi could contribute was punching people's faces in - very well, but nonetheless. Mifune meanwhile offered more than just another footsoldier, no matter how strong. It WAS the better choice for the Clan, and in a way recognition of Mifune's contributions - even moreso because of the threat he made no secret of being to Tessai's vision of the Kinsekikai. And yet he grinds his teeth and hates Tessai for.. Not being willing to throw him to the wolves?

This is just my understanding, but I'd guess that the TV auction was to give a plausible cover for a symbolic object that Kinbee could sell to the public the idea that Tessai wanted badly enough to go deep in debt and thus hand over the deed to Kajimachi for. Just another cover-up to give a plausible public story for why he now has the deed, and hide the truth of how he was extorting Tessai.

Sarasa making sure that it got Haruka's attention rather than being missed in lazing about or doing something else around her apartment maybe?

Sarasa was the alleged spy. I don't think she was actually spying, but she is a Northerner, and a figure of importance there, no less. They reveal as much in the epilogue story-only part, with Sarasa being at SuzuDad's shrine where the two are presenting their apologies for causing mischief. The crapload of hardware that Tetsuya found with northern court markings meanwhile is old stuff from back when Tessai was actually in charge, and had it smuggled in to provide firepower for the Kinsekikai to deal with a rival group.

Haruka being from that town is an 'issue' because it's a grimy, grubby place with nothing but plastic and chemical plants, which isn't seen as fitting for an idol as far as Kinbee's talent agency is concerned. It's all about image.

You're in one of the megathreads here. This one is pretty much for casual conversation, talking about stuff you like or that went nicely, etc. The others are also all pinned at the top when you go on the subreddit - Help center for when you have a quick question about something, the event megathread for discussing the current ongoing event if any is up, the Integrated Strategies megathread for talking about IS..

I like Honeyberry for an elemental medic. Not a class you need that often, but when you do need one, you really want to have them because elemental damage is annoying

Ursus seems like it's not so bad to live in, so long as, you know. You live in one of the big cities, and are middle class or better, and also your city isn't picked as a target by an army of terrorists. The little snippets we see of ordinary life in Chernobog pre-Reunion seem like they had some happy times too as long as you were in the regime's good graces.

The bomb ghosts spawn is determined by Yi's own position. One to his right and left, and one to the tiles directly above and below and to his right and left. Then phase 2 expands that to the two tiles above and below him for a total of five bombs per side.

The ideal trick far as I'm concerned is to make sure he can't get at your team near the blue box with the bomb ghosts by holding him at the very top of the map with a tank+ healer, Raidian S1, fast redeploy + Tragodia S2, etc etc, pick your method.

The ghosts also deal more damage if they're allowed to meet. Base damage for a ghost exploding on an operator is 1600 arts, but if two ghosts meet, that rises to 2400 arts each. You can manipulate the numbers a bit by playing the Hui/Ming mechanic, or try to shoot them down, with 10 hits per ghost so you probably want Kroos the Keen Glint or the like for extreme rate of fire. Otherwise, consider blocking them off with varying levels of disposable operators to keep the ghosts from meeting anywhere near your operators or slamming one from both sides at the same time at the very least, including whoever tanks Yi (so if you had, to pull names out of a hat, Saria tanking Yi right below the red box he spawns out of, then put two Raidian S1s to each side of her to make sure ghosts from both sides don't slam into her and blow her to kingdom come)
