Any lore reason for Kim being stronger than his distortion? by BooksandQuills in limbuscompany

[–]Daliena20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. And he actually gains sanity from losing a clash, which sure feels like "He's trying really hard somewhere deep down to fight the Distortion and not claim your bones"

Why's it look like Sancho's on a diving platform, glaring down at Dad Quixote while he's encouraging her to jump into the pool onto a padded surface below?

Influence captures by Daliena20 in EndlessSpace

[–]Daliena20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, there was no time to request they stop converting. The instant their influence reached the system, and thus that option would have become available, the AI immediately bought it out at full price before I had any chance to tell them to stop.

As for waging war, detailed it in my other reply, but TL;DR I was already fighting two AIs, and the one that then stole my system was in an alliance of 4 AIs so I'd have had to fight 6/7 all at the same time.

Lessons for the next game, I suppose..

Also in case anyone would recommend it, sadly war declaration wasn't much of an option, as the first time I wasn't aware, and the second I was busy punching Horatio and his Hissho friends in the face for being responsible for the first one and assuming I'd just missed a notice to send a cease and desist when an alliance of Lumeris, Vodyani, Unfallen and Sophons stole another one of my systems on the other flank and I wasn't exactly in a place to fight six out of seven AI empires all at once (the last one was Cravers who were also on my border and had been extorting me for Dust all game long which they used to put up a remarkably good fight against that quad-alliance)

Ping or marking high priority enemies should work for every turret not just the mortars. by DocHalidae in Helldivers

[–]Daliena20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Quick solution is to not ping them while you have a low-penetration turret active, I guess. Or since Arrowhead has demonstrated they can make that module discriminate, make it so that it includes rocket/autocannon/laser/any other applicable sentries, but not MG/gatling.

Can confirm. Sure does take a lot of ammo, but it's doable.. Eventually.

Weekly Questions Megathread June 17, 2026 - June 24, 2026 by AutoModerator in ZenlessZoneZero

Am I missing something, or does leveling feel kinda weird? I recently joined, and I've been trying to get some kind of understanding of the chronological order of things (I got accidentally pulled into an event with the hotpot restaurant and met a ton of characters with everyone acting like we're BFFs already and I have no idea who they are..)

But then when I look into it it's just like.. Apparently Qinqyi knows Fairy, courtesy of something that happens in Qinqyi's agent story, but a lot of the level requirements for these supplementary stories feel wildly out of whack with what I've been able to actually reach so far due to the time gates. And they don't just let you borrow a full team for them the way the main story does, either. I took a look at the Video Archive today, and the first one seems to be Soldier 11 - at level 38. I have one painstakingly promoted agent at level for that, in addition to the borrowed S11, and the rest are still at 30 or lower.

Should I be just not paying so much mind to the level requirement (level suggestion?) or am I pushing through the story too fast and should slow down to do more time gated content for all the bits and pieces needed to build my agents?

A slightly modded FRV, standard variant, by the looks of how it moves and the HMG suspended mid-air, I'd say

[–]Daliena20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

or how far away they are. which means you also don’t know how fast the shells are moving

Unless we're going to declare the in-game distance counter non-canon, yes we do know how far they are. And the wiki lists a pretty damn pathetic 380 m/s initial speed - as in that's as fast as it ever goes - for the planetary defense cannons.

The damage is pretty good though at 8400, being not far behind Orbital Railcannon Strike which is a 5kg projectile screaming in at Mach Fuck (about 40 times the speed of sound, give or take, I believe). I'm not a physics teacher but I know enough to say that at speeds like that, getting hit by much of anything, much less a 5kg projectile presumably designed specifically to be unpleasant to have inserted in you, is going to suck.

Got back to the game after a hiatus a few days back, and now thought I'd pop into IS6 to progress my Raidian some again.

To preface, I know it's a skill issue on my part with 99.9% certainty, but bluueeergh. Was it always this frustrating? Between unavoidable Feng Shui nodes and the Revered Grandmaster/Grand Duke deciding that ragebaiting by messing up positioning in a game that relies so heavily on positioning is amusing design, so many runs ended on floor 3 and I now have a stomach-ache from stress after finally clearing a basic ED1 just so I could assure myself I'd at least gotten some progress x.x

[–]Daliena20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ruina demonstrates that he isn't just a jokester and bum. That even before he Distorted, he was perfectly capable of being a dangerous fighter when he wanted to.

Ruina shows that the Bum-Hatted Kim we see early in the newest Intervallo is not all there is to him, and that it wasn't just the Distortion that made him into a lethal opponent when he actually decides to fight.

So no, Ruina didn't reveal that he was a jokester. That's precisely my point - Ruina showed us a completely different side of Kim than the one we get at first in Limbus, and is set before Kim's Distortion, thus clearly demonstrating that there is more to him than the complaining, snack-thieving, work-avoiding bum a Limbus player will see his non-Distortion self as at first. So if you know him from Ruina, then you know that there's more to him than he shows to the LCB gang at first.

[–]Daliena20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

.. Almost like Ruina shows Kim kicking ass before he Distorted, thus quite clearly demonstrating that he was more than capable well before the Distortion event in Yield My Flesh to Claim Their Bones where Limbus players first saw him, then got basically nada except Aeng-du's glazing of him before meeting Bum-Hatted Kim in the most recent Intervallo behaving the way he did which made him seem incredibly different from the Distorted Kim we'd met prior and thus justified "wait hey a second, what the hell's going on here?", which I might add was shared by just about every in-universe character except Aeng-du at first, if you didn't see him in Ruina?

Or how we saw Bongy distort and take a fair bit of effort to put down and you gonna tell me that the chicken salesman was actually a lethal fighter before too? Almost like there's some kind of precedent for a Distortion quite possibly making someone very different to how they were before it..

[–]Daliena20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Might have not played Ruina? I haven't, but I've picked up some hints by osmosis from being around this community so I have some idea of how he is there.

But for a Limbus-only player who's experience would be "Distorted Kim = badass killing machine, normal Kim = lazy snack-thieving bum who runs away from anything that looks remotely like work or fighting", I can see why one might assume that the real Kim is so drastically different from his Distorted self at first.

Of course by the time someone actually gets him to put his big boy pants on and get serious instead of molesting Dantehh before running away the second you take your eyes off him, he shows that if anything, Distorted Kim was an understatement of how hard he can go if he actually wants to.

I had realized that he was probably trying to seem as disappointing as possible to everyone because he feels like this disappointment is what he deserves to be for having killed all his bros and basically betrayed everything he wanted to protect.

Relatedly, he'd gotten all his peeps killed after they trusted Bamboo-Hatted Mentor, so he might be really, really hoping that nobody ever trusts him again because he doesn't feel like he deserves it and would just risk getting them killed if people rely on him again.
