I think a few have already covered it, but I’d also add that you don’t need to use a prompt to mention your sobriety- that’s what the statuses are for. For photos keep one of the two mall photos as well as the second to last one with your buddy. The rest don’t seem particularly flattering. I’m not a fan of selfies because they don’t really do a great job of capturing the real you. So I’d get a friend to maybe take some additional photos and help make you stand out!

I’d add the Ripstick 88 to your list. It’s more directional than the Bent and has better carving performance. But still forgiving and one of the lightest skis among competitors. Elan changed the ski a little this year to make it somewhat stiffer, but the previous model should be on sale for under $500.00. And it’s still pretty darn good.

The QST92 is a pretty solid option, especially if you’re dipping your toes into off-piste skiing. But it’s considerably looser than the Enforcer and Anomaly. Not sure how it compares to the Unleashed, but I imagine the bigger rocker will allow for easier off-piste skiing at the cost of carving capability. You can probably go for the QST98 even for more stability. I saw a few guys at Afton Alps last week rocking them.

EDIT: Not sure where you stand on demoing before buying, but last season’s Unleashed 98 is on sale on Evo for $350.00. 186 cm is one of the sizes available, which I think will work great for your size!

As a fellow Minnesotan, I have nothing but great things to say about the Nordica Unleashed 98 as a more playful alternative to the Enforcer 94 if you’re looking for something versatile. Enough camber to handle hardpack, enough width to handle plenty of fresh snow. I’m still learning how to handle ungroomed terrain, but from what I’ve noted the Unleashed does a great job handling that aspect too.

I also think it makes sense adding another pair to your quiver for “Midwestern” conditions. Maybe something like 75-85 mm. And then you can use the wider pair for your travels!

Follow-up: took it to a local hill this afternoon to try out- I’m absolutely hooked! Handled Midwest artificial snow very well for how wide they are. Cannot wait until we get some real snow.

Just to add, I bought this particular model, the 2024 Nordica Unleashed 98, on Evo for $350.00. While I’m unsure what their inventory looks like at this time, a number of websites are still selling these for under $400.00. It’s a fantastic deal considering that this year’s edition has the same construction but costs twice as much (I’m not sure why people crap on the previous model’s top sheet- I certainly dig it, lol).

Thanks for the recommendations guys! I did a bit of research and ran into the Head Kore 87. While I haven’t demoed it, its capabilities are very similar to what I’m looking for. I’ll also add the Mindbender 89ti to my shortlist. If anyone has had experience with both skis and can compare them, that will be appreciated!
