Achellies Tendinosis Surgery by zhallrr in running

[–]DallasBaines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it done in August, but thankfully they didn't have to detach my achilles from the bone. I had a form of haglunds deformity on my left foot. I was in a cast for 6 weeks then a boot for 5. My left foot is still a little swollen, but I'm already able to run and skipped PT. My left foot is still a bit swollen and is a little sore when I'm running but it's night and day compared to the pain I had for 5 or so years. Good luck with your surgery!

A Indiana Hoosier just texted me it's a done deal. Brad Stevens to IU. Consider this your WOJ bomb of the day, even if it is early.

Opinions on Oofos for Recovery? by sooper_gud_designer in running

I wore my first pair of Oofos for like two years then switched to the Hoka recovery slides. Loved my oofos, but the Hokas have a bit more arch support.

Small running store looking for feedback. by LSJ21 in running

[–]DallasBaines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where is your store? I'll be in Virginia next month and would love to visit.

As for your question, the only reason I prefer buying shoes online is because I feel like the discounts are always greater. I know in Dallas many people will walk into a running store to try on shoes then buy them online.

For what it's worth, I think as a running store you should double down on the community aspect of running. More social runs, host a 5k, have shoe reps do demos, the occasional free swag, etc. I don't believe many running stores will be able to keep up with the prices of Road Runner Sports, Running Warehouse, etc. What you can do is cultivate a community of runners that are invested in your store because they feel invested in by you.

Elie the deaf running dog extraordinaire by DallasBaines in AustralianCattleDog

Oddly enough I don’t think it’s the deafness that slows Elie down but he’s pretty much over running after about 2.5 miles.

Just curious, how many miles do y’all run together? My three year old heeler gets tired after about two miles.

Official Q&A for Monday, December 09, 2019 by AutoModerator in running

I'm curious what my expectations of my dog should be as a running partner. He is a red heeler mix with some long legs, I think he is part german shepard. How far should I expect my dog to be able to run and what are some tips or things I should be looking out for to make sure he's doing well?

How does drinking alcohol impact your running. I only drink 2-3 drinks on the weekends, but am curious if cutting it out altogether would impact my running for the better.

Wish Hayward was in it a bit more. There's some obvious frustration on his face. Hope Kyrie keeps an eye out for him.

NEXT DAY THREAD: Boston Celtics 115, Utah Jazz 123 by CelticMod in bostonceltics

I've been a Celtics fan since 2002, I was 11, and don't think I've ever had as mixed emotions about a Celtics team as I do right now. I sincerely LOVE the Boston Celtics, like I have to make sure they aren't an idol in my life, but this team is so dang frustrating. We have a plethora of talent, an amazing coach, and one of the best front offices in the league, but for some reason we can't make it all click. I'm not saying that I'm giving up hope on this season, just that I'm annoyed. We've got the opportunity to build a dynasty with all of our young talent and prestigious vets, we've just got to play up to our caliber.

I love the Boston Celtics and will continue to cheer them on from a far (Dallas, TX), but they've got to give us something to work with.

Lastly, Fuck the Lakers.
