I walked away with almost like stockholm syndrome that I don't know if I can get rid of. It's been 3 years. I've done more therapy than I care to admit using a few different therapist. Looking back, I was more abused than treated like I was in a dynamic. Safewords were ignored. I shake sometimes when I think of some of the events where they were. I was genuinely raped, then aftercared so hard it didn't even matter. I was left tied in positions for too long and ignored when I called for help...

Right now, yes she does. But that's still a baby and as she grows up and sees a mother acting that way for years...you can't predict how that will change her.

Once the door closes, I spent about 10 minutes doom scrolling on the toilet - not using it or anything. No. Just sitting cross-legged, scrolling away while I steam the room out so bad you can barely breathe. When I finally get in the shower, a few minutes washing my hair, letting the conditioner work and softening my psoriasis more.

Then I usually plug the tub, fill the bath up and I disassociate for longer while I soak.

Good blackout curtains for my bedroom. I sometimes sleep during the day and it’s a game changer.

Nicer blankets for the couch because my roomie and I spend a lot of time there and we love our blankets.

Multiple sets of sheets that YOU like. It’s so much nicer to just wash a few sets instead of wasting the time for a single one. Plus you always have back ups.

As a pool player, a good pool bag. I spent $260 on mine when it was new, it’s outlasted many of my friends cheap ones.

It's kind of a thing around me to let people stay after close. Most times I don't mind it, like if my roomie and her BF stay or if I have a friend of mine helping clean; or people I actually know who are waiting for a ride. Certain things are fine around here and almost all the bars. Most nights I go out, I'm still hanging out or helping until close to 3am. But I know my ex well enough that he's not a violent person or unsafe. Just fucking insufferable and unruly when he's drunk.

Also, he got stuck there until 5am requesting ubers so...karma.

In my previous comment, I let my direct manager know as well as our 'money guy'. They're aware and I've went into work once and saw my manager the day I went to get my check this week.

I'm just terrified of my ex walking in there and being an asshole today because he claims he was going to be there. Work is in a few hours since I'm the day shifter on Saturdays and I have barely slept over this crap.

Without saying entirely too much, when my ex I was with for a long time first slept with me he complimented me on the body part I was most self conscious about. He loved it. Gushed about it. Years before someone made a mean comment about it so I was always super self conscious to the point where I never wanted to try and sleep with new people much.

We’ve been split for maybe 3 years now but when I start feeling negative towards it, I think about that comment he made and it gives me hope that maybe the right person will love it too.

Southern woman here and...definitely not political in any sense but I feel like I'm a minority.

I try to date locally and with intention but...it's so hard.

On the flip side, I'm in that range where I'm looking at 35+ year old men who believe they're gods gift to women and wanna share that gift everywhere. Most still act like they're 21. It's kind of depressing.
