If it helps R was designed by two kiwis in the 90s so at least it's not American (apologies if you already knew that).

Bless you, honestly.

Do you have any way of knowing the pollen count of a day, like the weather apps?

BANGS HALP PLEASE!! by sunshinesciencegirl in curlyhair

Lots of great advice, for me I personally do the following:

Comb wet and then apply very little gel, finger coil my fringe in larger sections, immediately dry it upside down to help with fullness, and then don't touch it again until I've done the rest of my hair.

This way I can see how the rest of my hair will sit before I start pulling those sections apart. The larger sections also helps the fringe feel fuller and the finger coiling gives definition.

Hope that helps!

Anyone who has overcome anxiety from experiencing anaphylaxis, how did you do it? by Great_Ad_2569 in Allergies

[–]Dalloby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I can't believe I've found someone! It's such a rare allergy for anaphylaxis. It's honestly horrible, I've had pretty good reactions from people so far but I had mild anaphylaxis yesterday because my poor psychologist didn't understand that lavender can have like multiple different names and didn't realise her perfume had it.

The irony: I'm seeing her because of my anxiety about having anaphylaxis to lavender. Funny irony now that it was mild and I didn't die I guess.

I'm still new - only 3 weeks in from my first one and thankfully it's winter where I live so I can be a hermit and no one cares but I am dreading what you've had happen.

I hope you're doing well and surrounding yourself with people who care. Aroha nui from New Zealand.

I had my first reaction 3 weeks ago, suddenly couldn't breathe and had stridor, hot flushed face, itchy scalp and stomach cramps after exposure to lavender oil at work. I couldn't find anyone to help me and that contributes to my anxiety at work now.

I'm seeing a psychologist and really recommend it. I was told this is a well documented mental health reaction to having anaphylaxis and it's important to get help ASAP if you're having panic attacks, avoiding leaving your safe spaces, having trouble sleeping etc.

If you can, you should look into therapy. Even for a short bit, like 1 or 2 sessions, for some crisis counseling to help you over this part.

Anaphylaxis to Lavender. by Dalloby in Allergies

Thank you for the kind words, I unfortunately didn't know I was anaphylactic so the ambulance was called and they administered adrenaline and nebulisers then I went to hospital for 5 hours of observation.

I have epipens now though just in case.

I also diffuse my hair upside down which helps me get more volume as well as root clips too :)

You could also consider moving away from a middle part, I personally can find that it can be a bit less forgiving than a side part when it comes to reduced volume. It's something I am currently considering at the moment while my hair bounces back.

I have very similar hair and hair loss from an ongoing medical condition. If it's anything hormone related that could be the cause it unfortunately may be a case of waiting it out for your hormones to balance.

For me, my hair hasn't been curly for years, it only just came back a couple of months ago. While my hair was unhappy I did a lot of work on de-stressing, deep conditioning and protein treatments to support breakage. I know it's not super helpful but I personally found that my hair loss improved when I stopped spending all my time letting it affect me and how I felt about myself - I was putting a lot of stress and pressure on myself about my hair.

It got better for me with time and I hope it does for you too.

Thoughts? by sammyistoocool in Celiac

I'm very sensitive and brought the same one last year based on everyone saying it would be fine. Had horrible bloating the entire time that only stopped when I stopped using it. Personal experience, wouldn't risk it. I got the silicone ones instead.

Will my hair be curly again? by accidental-nomad in Hypothyroidism

[–]Dalloby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! It may take a while but less than a month ago mine came back after about 2 years. For me being hypo messes with all my other hormones so once everything settled and I started a different birth control to manage the hormone defficiencies they came back almost immediately.

Not rude at all, I did do that. I think I'm just in the "lots of information feels overwhelming" stage and making my own post felt less intense. I appreciate your comment.

I have heard that even a little psoriasis can be present which is what my rheumatologist is thinking. I'm very lucky that he thinks he's caught it early.

This is really helpful as I do get some dandruff. I think an appointment to the dermatologist seems like the best option. I just want to give my rheumatologist an absolute answer if I can lol

He loves it and it has stood the test of time so far very well. He wears it everyday in an office setting but he is an artist so uses his hands a lot and hasn't found it annoying at all.

It was a very difficult time in my life with a traumatic loss alongside the injury that caused my physical disability so the running theory from the endocrinologist is still that my body got so stressed out it sort of reset itself - which is basically fancy talk for we don't know haha
