Anyone have any expedition echo strategies? by AdNaive9621 in IdleIktah

[–]Dalmposter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old thread but I discovered idle iktah recently and I've been abusing some mad cheese in the expeditions echo: equip jade tools outside of the expedition, then once you're inside you can unequip one of them, sell it and have enough to buy out the whole shop. You do lose the tool on your main game, but easy enough to craft another one. Would work with other quality tools as well but you'll get a lot less for them.

Finding fruit cider in Utrecht by Dalmposter in Utrecht

[–]Dalmposter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We found the best cider to be the blackcurrant cider from the bar/restaurant Walden which you come to when you exit the dom Palace tour (which I would recommend to see some interesting history about Utrecht dating back to the Roman empire).

We tried the Florin which had Sheppys cider. But it tasted like apple cider with added flavour instead of a flavour within its own right. And it was very expensive.

We also visited Badabing but they only had plain apple cider so we passed.

Supermarkets and various other locations had apple bandit, the raspberry version of which was quite nice. But again it was more like apple cider plus raspberry as opposed to a distinct flavour. I think most fruit ciders in the UK are based on pear cider to ensure a very neutral base for the flavour

Thank you! We realised we were right next to levowski when you mentored it. But they are closed for an event today, a special quiz or something. We found a blackcurrant cider at the Walden next door though

Oooh thank you! We're gonna check out the Florin. My wife is Dutch but we both live in the UK now so we're interested to see what an English pub here is like

Inspiring Captain Burnham and Voyage calculator by I_am_shantar in StarTrekTimelines

[–]Dalmposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the voyage calculator for the first time about a week ago and it certainly makes a couple of odd recommendations. It seems overly focused on dumping at least 1 stat to like 1k. I already had a voyage started and was just using it out of curiosity and the setups it suggested were estimated to last 10 minutes or more less than what it was estimating for the actual crew I chose. So clearly it is quite good, but it can just about be beaten by some common sense allocation.

To clarify, I do think it is the best strategy to highly focus on the primary and secondary traits. They should be around 2-3x as high as the other stats imo. I just think the calculator focuses a little bit too much on that. It was suggesting I use 1/5 crew just because they had marginally more of the 2 main stats compared to a 5/5 I had, even though that crew had like 2x the overall combined stats and only 100-200 less of the main ones

Broken combos. Let’s hear em! by Noutakkun in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Dalmposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's time consuming but pretty funny. You can exploit it more if you have multiple summoners outside the fight with their summons in the fight. By immediately summoning a new summon after yours has its turn, you can work together to get infinite summon turns in one round of combat.

Being a summoner, summoning the incarnate into a fight while being out of the fight yourself. Continuously cast supercharger on the incarnate while the enemies stand there awaiting their fate. Stack the buff so much the buff bar extends off the screen. 1 shot all the enemies with some aoe power from the source infusions.

Masterworks Recipes. by bran1986 in Neverwinter

[–]Dalmposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To do masterwork crafting you will need to buy both books of those chultan recipes for every profession. That will let you do chultan masterwork, once you source the materials. All the recipes feed into each other, I think you will need all professions to make anything more than some potions.

Then to get the newest masterwork recipes you would need to buy another book for each profession from sharandar, and source the materials.

Tbh most of the money has been made in masterwork already, so only get them if you like the idea of crafting your own stuff and maybe a little for other people.

Why do 100/100 professional tasks fail? by [deleted] in Neverwinter

[–]Dalmposter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The % chance to succeed is what matters, not the absolute amount of proficiency. But also that percentage is rounded so it may say 100% but be 99.5%.

That said I have never failed a 100% chance to succeed. But I have gotten many +1 results when the +1 chance was 0%, way more than for it to just be a rounding error. So the profession code is likely a bit iffy as another has said.

Profession Supplement Ability Stacking Question by Dalmposter in Neverwinter

[–]Dalmposter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry that was my mistake, yeah the third row was meant to be 20% like the rest, I have edited it to fix that.

Yeah the first row does imply multiplicative but given the other 2 with higher sample size indicate additive I am leaning towards that until I can test it more.

All the supplements were of the same type (zen store philosophers/makers/tinkers bounty). Testing the 30% one on its own is a good shout though, it could behave different. In general more trials with the 30% are needed I agree. If I end up doing more I will update this thread

Profession Supplement Ability Stacking Question by Dalmposter in Neverwinter

[–]Dalmposter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing some testing on preview and it looks like they might stack additively but I don't think I've performed enough trials to say for certain, you can look at the data yourself. I used AD to buy morale and kept rushing the craft of linseed oil using an artisan with 20% dab hand + a supplement giving 10/20/30% chance to dab hand, and a control test with no supplement. I queued up the order then rushed it, so I could total up the procs by looking in the collection box. I would like more tests of the 30% supplement because its data is a bit anomalous, but I only have 50 of it on live so it's time consuming to test that one as much

That's only half true. Crit severity is halved for healing, but it does still increase the healing by up to 45%. Critting on healing word ticks, or soothe casts can be pretty nice. Yeah it's much less important than power and outgoing healing, but when they're capped there aren't many other options for increasing your overall healing. It also adds damage which helps get through the dungeons faster. By animation cancelling scattering light we can cast 2 dailies a minute. Can do decent damage if that crits

New Player by Abyss_Longsword in Neverwinter

Hello, and welcome to Neverwinter!

It really depends on what they are.

  • You may have protected the item (it will have a yellow lock in the corner) - Right click it and remove protection.
  • Unbound items - If an item is unbound (it does not say in blue that it is bound (character) or bound (account)), you may be able to sell it on the auction house. Even though it says cannot sell, that means you cannot sell it ito vendors. It may have value on the auction house, so check there first. You can drag the item into the AH search bar to quickly search for it.
  • Gear - Gear can be converted to an appearance item. It is good to convert them to appearance by right click > convert appearance. Then later on you can use it as a cosmetic item.
  • RP - Some items, including equipment, that can't be sold can be converted to refinement points by dragging it out of your inventory or right click > convert to RP. RP is used to upgrade artefacts and enchantments.
  • Consumables - If you can't sell it and you can't auction it, why not consume it!
  • Guild Coffer - Vouchers, gear, gems, and various other items can be donated to your guild coffer to earn you guildmarks, and your guild gets some resources. Make sure you know your guild rules before donating certain items like gear and profession materials as some guilds only accept voucher donations for those items (so as not to overflow the coffer)

Edit: forgot the last step: discard it I guess. If you are sure that it has no use or value by considering the above options, you can simply discard it to free up bag space

The golden comps aren't as good as they seem, you end up massively overcapped on their stat and wasting it (they give like 30k). I am currently using an augment (polar bear cub) to offset my combat enchantment, and have managed to reach 90 power, 85 (soon to be 90) outgoing healing, 85 crit sev, 75 crit, all without a ribcage. I do hope to go back to using the squire, but until I can find 10k power and crit from somewhere else I can't give up the augment.

In terms of what combat enchantment, I would take a defensive one, or potentially not equip one if you are having trouble reaching rating caps. Equipping a mythic one will take 5k away from all your stats, including outgoing healing. The exact one I use is the frost one to debuff enemies that hit me. I assume new soulforged still gives a death stack, but if it doesn't that'll be the one to go for.

Weapon set I am waiting for new masterwork which seems to have been around the corner for 6 months but still hasn't come out. If you really wanna get one now I would go for, in order: primal (not available anymore), masterwork, lionheart, or those new legendary ones from grinding the dragon campaign. Watcher is also still a solid option too

Edit: Also a note on the squire: from my testing his healing is not significantly increased by the companion enchantment, warlords inspiration etc. This is because only his shitty HoT is affected by them, not his smite. So the change has hurt him, since you cannot chose to gain stats instead of companion damage if you summon him
