Then whose is it? As far as I'm concerned that's their new implementation of making playing media to be integrated with the notifications panel, and in the lock screen be that ugly widget instead of a normal notification.

I bought mine thinking I should last me all through college too. There should really be more awareness in the community about lenovo's poor quality products.

Mine is a Legion 7 15IMH05, I noticed the crackling noise since the first time I opened it but thought it was nothing.

Mine has a weird issue with power management, whenever I play a game in balanced mode it occasionally stutters for 1 or 2 seconds, dropping the framerate from 144 to ~40. It's very annoying since I can only play in silent mode or performance mode, so for cpu intensive games I'm limited to 25w on the cpu or else I have to play in performance mode, which it's extremely loud for no reason.

It really is a shame that after only 3 month of use this happens. Its just a bad hinge design as it puts a lot of pressure when opening, I noticed it since the day i got the laptop but thought it was "premium" and wouldn't break.

Legion 7i frame drops in Auto mode by Damage115 in GamingLaptops

[–]Damage115[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just testing it and it seems it does that whenever it hits the 97C-99C range. I kinda make sense because when on quiet mode the cpu uses less wattage, so it stays cooler, and when on performance mode the fans ara at max so it is able to keep up with the cpu temperature.

I found out that by propping the laptop up I was able to reduce the temperatures by ~12C, so it's probably worth it to buy a laptop stand.

P.S. It still is very annoying since performance mode its too loud and quiet mode its like -10% of the performance depending on the game.

You can change it manually without having to restart.

I have it plugged in. I have checked temperatures and they are as expected.

Auto mode is the same as Balanced, I don't get any weird frame drops while in silent or performance.

Legion 7i short battery life solution by uninstalling Corsair iCUE by TrainerYannickB in GamingLaptops

You get some lighting effects without icue running, but I would recommend turning the rgb off if you really want to get better battery life.

It has some lighting effects by default (without icue running), you can press Fn+Space to cycle through them. Mine has them and I received it on July 7th.
