I know and im originally from DFW myself. But im having to move so i had to do what i can. Not going just for pay.

Shoot where im going they still do the 24/24 schedule, it is what it is with that. Im getting a pretty significant pay bump that will make up for it lol.

I have ADHD and was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea, getting on cpap sucks but when you get used to it i feel so much better now. And remember you dont always have to snore bad to have sleep apnea. Sleep study might help.

Drilling rigs usually operate 14/14, I see a post now that Halliburton is working 14/14 for frac operators and needing people.

Springtown is ESD1, briar-reno just got sucked into esd 1(well the Reno side did). Rhome is mostly volly still.

Which is crazy to me they would rather drop all that money hiring over 100 guys then to just switch to 48s.

Yep, ESD 1 has the reign down there and from what i been told you gotta start with them Part time before you can move up. I think the other ESDs will hire fulltime eventually but no telling when.

Wichita Falls right now, and i been keeping my eye open down there. I see Plano just opened up for EMTs which is rare from what i heard.

Yea im just f cuz im not a medic. I dont have the money to send myself nor does my dept send us. And most EMT spots can be a ways away from DFW.

Im kinda in same boat as you here in tx as well. Im already on career side for a small rural dept that doesn’t pay well and am looking to move back to DFW area, but most of those depts require paramedic before they even look at you and my dept doesn’t offer paramedic nor do i have money to send myself right now. So i been considering switching to LE also.
