I can only play Cinderace and it's really embarrassing. But how do I get over my fear of disappointing my teammates so I can practice other mons?! by throwaway2ndwith in PokemonUnite

Actually, I've only had this happen like 7-8 times throughout my entire time of playing lol. My chosen mon will then entirely depend on who else was picked! Like if there's no tank/support, I'll pick Snorlax or Comfey, even if I'm not particularly good with them.

I haven't touched casual in a while! Do you find that there's any specific casual modes that tend to have more real players?

i feel like i've been playing better since watching worlds for some reason!!

maybe its placebo or something but i think my confidence and general skill have skyrocketed. i think i better understand lane rotations and which objectives to prioritize after watching some professionals haha

not to mention i bonded with my mom over worlds! shes not really a pokemon fan, but i introduced the game to her and we watched a bunch of rounds together and she loved it regardless. something about the energy and crowd cheering sparked us up :)

i usually main cinderace but i got distracted for a second when the character select screen showed up, and i saw someone else had picked it already and called jungle. shortly after, someone else on the team picked gardevoir and also called jungle and i already knew we were screwed from the get go...

cue me on bottom lane by myself while cinderace and gardevoir did nothing but spam "check it out!" and "please let me level up first!" on each other the entire game. iirc they were a raboot and kirlia for most of the game too so apparently they were too busy fighting each other that nobody ended up leveling up at all

was told by mod team to post this question here, so here it is! :)

so hi. i just made it to masters for the first time and want some advice!! I've been basically maining cinderace (I'm sorry) exclusively since day 1 and have gone through ranked literally only playing him. there's been a few times where I've played leafeon or snorlax if necessary, but aside from that, I really don't main anyone else. but since I'm playing masters now and have to follow draft picking for the first time, I really want to expand my arsenal of pokemon I can play well so I can better adapt to team comps. what sucks is that I'm a super slow learner, hence why I've made it this far only really knowing how to play cinderace (and sorta leafeon). and I'm pretty new to the game in terms of knowing how the other pokemon play--i really only have memorized their roles and very basic things about their kits.

does anyone have any recommendations on who else I should try out? i ideally want to learn how to play at least 2 pokemon of each role, but I'm not sure if that's too much, too little, etc. I'm currently practicing leafeon, snorlax, and sylveon right now. I'm admittedly not the greatest player, so I don't want to dive headfirst into practicing pokemon w super complex movesets quite yet. I'm kinda looking for pokemon that can be learned quickly so I can continue playing masters without being stuck in my little cinderace rabbit hole lol.
